في خطوة لافتة بالتزامن مع مرور 250 عاماً على الاستقلال عن الحكم الملكي، تعتزم حكومة الولايات المتحدة إصدار نسخ محدودة من جوازات السفر هذا الصيف، تتضمن صورة كبيرة للرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب.

ووفقاً للمعلومات المعلنة، ستظهر صورة ترمب على الغلاف الداخلي لجواز السفر، محاطة بنص إعلان الاستقلال والعلم الأمريكي، مع توقيعه باللون الذهبي، كما ستتضمن إحدى الصفحات لوحة شهيرة تُجسّد لحظة توقيع الآباء المؤسسين على وثيقة الاستقلال.

وأوضح المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية تومي بيغوت، في بيان رسمي، أن الجوازات الجديدة ستحتوي على «تصاميم فنية مخصصة وصور محسّنة»، مع الحفاظ على جميع معايير الأمان الحالية، مؤكداً أن جواز السفر الأمريكي يُعد من بين «الأكثر أماناً في العالم».

وتأتي هذه الخطوة ضمن برنامج «America250»، الذي أطلقته الإدارة للاحتفال بالذكرى السنوية الـ250 للاستقلال، ويتضمن فعاليات متنوعة، من بينها سباق «غراند بري» في ناشونال مول، ونزال قتالي تابع لمنظمة UFC على الحديقة الجنوبية للبيت الأبيض.

ولم تكشف وزارة الخارجية العدد الإجمالي للجوازات التي سيتم إصدارها، مكتفية بالإشارة إلى أنها ستكون «محدودة» بمناسبة الحدث التاريخي.

ويُعد هذا الإصدار جزءاً من سلسلة مبادرات شهدتها المؤسسات الأمريكية أخيرا، حيث ظهرت صورة ترمب بالفعل على لافتات في مبانٍ حكومية عدة، بينها وزارة العدل ووزارة العمل ووزارة الزراعة، حيث عُرضت صورته إلى جانب الرئيس الأسبق أبراهام لينكولن تحت شعار «تنمية أمريكا منذ 1862».

كما تضمّن تصريح دخول المتنزهات الوطنية لعام 2026 صورة ترمب إلى جانب جورج واشنطن تحت عبارة «أمريكا الجميلة»، وبعد قيام بعض الزوار بتغطية صورته بملصقات احتجاجية، حذّرت هيئة المتنزهات الوطنية من أن أي تعديل على التصريح قد يؤدي إلى إبطاله.

وفي سياق متصل، طرحت دار سك العملة الأمريكية تصاميم أولية لعملة معدنية بقيمة دولار واحد تحمل صورة ترمب، فيما وافقت لجنة الفنون الجميلة على تصميم عملة تذكارية من الذهب عيار 24 قيراطاً تُظهره بملامح حادة.

ولم تقتصر المبادرات على ذلك، إذ حصل مشروع قوس نصر ذهبي بارتفاع 250 قدماً – يُشار إليه داخلياً باسم «Arc de Trump» – على موافقة مبدئية، رغم ما وُصف بردود فعل شعبية سلبية واسعة.

ومن المقرر، في حال تنفيذه، أن يتجاوز ارتفاعه مبنى الكابيتول ونصب لنكولن التذكاري، مع تمثال ذهبي مستوحى من تمثال الحرية.

In a notable step coinciding with the 250th anniversary of independence from royal rule, the United States government plans to issue limited editions of passports this summer, featuring a large image of President Donald Trump.

According to the announced information, Trump’s image will appear on the inside cover of the passport, surrounded by the text of the Declaration of Independence and the American flag, with his signature in gold. One of the pages will also include a famous painting depicting the moment the Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence.

U.S. State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott clarified in an official statement that the new passports will contain “custom artistic designs and enhanced images,” while maintaining all current security standards, emphasizing that the American passport is among “the most secure in the world.”

This move is part of the “America250” program launched by the administration to celebrate the 250th anniversary of independence, which includes various events, such as the “Grand Prix” race at the National Mall and a UFC fight on the South Lawn of the White House.

The State Department did not disclose the total number of passports to be issued, merely indicating that they would be “limited” for this historic event.

This issuance is part of a series of initiatives recently seen in American institutions, where Trump’s image has already appeared on signs in several government buildings, including the Department of Justice, the Department of Labor, and the Department of Agriculture, where his image was displayed alongside former President Abraham Lincoln under the slogan “Building America since 1862.”

The 2026 National Park entrance pass also featured Trump’s image next to George Washington under the phrase “Beautiful America.” After some visitors covered his image with protest stickers, the National Park Service warned that any modification to the pass could lead to its cancellation.

In a related context, the U.S. Mint has proposed initial designs for a one-dollar coin featuring Trump’s image, while the Fine Arts Commission approved a design for a 24-karat gold commemorative coin depicting him with sharp features.

The initiatives did not stop there, as a project for a 250-foot tall golden Arc de Triumph—internally referred to as “Arc de Trump”—received preliminary approval, despite what has been described as widespread negative public reactions.

If implemented, it is set to surpass the height of the Capitol building and the Lincoln Memorial, featuring a golden statue inspired by the Statue of Liberty.
