في خطاب حمل رسائل سياسية لافتة وتلميحات واسعة حول مستقبل عدد من ملفات الشرق الأوسط، عاد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب ليثير الجدل بتصريحات تناولت لبنان وإيران، واضعاً تصورات طموحة لتسويات قد تغيّر مسار التوترات القائمة في المنطقة.

وقال الرئيس الأمريكي في خطاب ألقاه مساء الجمعة إن لبنان يمكن أن يعود «دولة عظيمة من جديد»، في إشارة إلى إمكانية إعادة تنشيط دوره واستقراره.

وخلال كلمة أمام تجمع محافظ في مدينة فينيكس بولاية أريزونا، أكد ترمب أن الولايات المتحدة «أنهت 10 حروب»، من بينها ما وصفه بالصراعات المرتبطة بإيران ولبنان، مشيراً إلى أن تلك الجهود ساهمت في تهدئة عدد من بؤر التوتر.

وفي سياق حديثه عن الملف الإيراني، أوضح ترمب أن أي اتفاق سلام محتمل قد يتضمن نقل اليورانيوم المخصب من إيران إلى الولايات المتحدة، لافتاً إلى أن واشنطن قد تقدم دعماً فنياً لطهران في استخراج المواد النووية من منشآت سبق تدميرها.

وأضاف أن العملية قد تتطلب معدات ضخمة لاستخراج تلك المواد، مؤكداً أن ذلك سيتم بالتعاون مع الجانب الإيراني، وبما يضمن إعادة المواد إلى الولايات المتحدة في إطار الاتفاق.

وشدد في الوقت ذاته على أن إيران «لن تمتلك سلاحاً نووياً في أي حال من الأحوال»، في إشارة إلى الموقف الأمريكي الثابت تجاه البرنامج النووي الإيراني.

وكان ترمب قد أشار في وقت سابق إلى عدم وجود خلافات جوهرية كبيرة مع إيران في المرحلة الحالية، متوقعاً استئناف المحادثات بين واشنطن وطهران خلال مطلع الأسبوع، في ظل مؤشرات على استمرار التواصل بين الجانبين.

The U.S. President stated in a speech delivered on Friday evening that Lebanon could become a “great nation again,” referring to the possibility of revitalizing its role and stability.

During a speech at a Republican gathering in Phoenix, Arizona, Trump affirmed that the United States has “ended 10 wars,” including what he described as conflicts related to Iran and Lebanon, noting that these efforts have contributed to calming several hotspots.

In the context of discussing the Iranian file, Trump clarified that any potential peace agreement could involve transferring enriched uranium from Iran to the United States, pointing out that Washington might offer technical support to Tehran in extracting nuclear materials from facilities that had previously been destroyed.

He added that the process might require massive equipment to extract those materials, emphasizing that this would be done in cooperation with the Iranian side, ensuring the materials are returned to the United States as part of the agreement.

At the same time, he stressed that Iran “will not possess nuclear weapons under any circumstances,” referring to the steadfast U.S. position regarding the Iranian nuclear program.

Trump had previously indicated that there are no significant fundamental disagreements with Iran at this stage, anticipating the resumption of talks between Washington and Tehran early in the week, amid signs of continued communication between the two sides.
