أعلنت منصة إنستغرام عن تحديث كبير لحسابات المراهقين، يوسع نطاق الإعدادات من خلال تطبيق نظام تصنيف محتوى جديد يتماشى مع معايير التقييم العمري PG-13 (مثل أفلام 13+)، في خطوة تهدف إلى تعزيز الأمان الرقمي وحماية المستخدمين دون سن 18 عاماً من المحتوى غير المناسب.

وبموجب التحديث الجديد، سيتم وضع جميع حسابات المستخدمين تحت سن 18 عاماً تلقائياً في إعداد «13+» بشكل افتراضي، بحيث يُخفى أو يُقلل ظهور المحتوى الذي يحتوي على لغة قوية، حيل خطرة، إشارات إلى المخدرات، أو مواضيع ناضجة أخرى قد تكون ضارة، ولن يتمكن المراهقون من تغيير هذا الإعداد أو الخروج منه دون موافقة صريحة من الوالدين أو الوصي.

كما أدخلت المنصة إعداداً أكثر صرامة جديداً يُسمى «Limited Content»، يسمح للوالدين بتطبيق فلاتر إضافية تحد بشكل أكبر من ظهور المحتوى، بما في ذلك تقييد نتائج البحث والتعليقات.

وقالت «ميتا» إن هذا التحديث يُعد الأكبر منذ إطلاق «حسابات المراهقين» في 2024، ويأتي بعد مراجعة دقيقة لسياسات المنصة بالمقارنة مع معايير تقييم الأفلام PG-13، مع الأخذ بعين الاعتبار آراء الآباء.

وبدأت «إنستغرام» في تطبيق «Teen Accounts» تلقائياً على المستخدمين الذين يبلغون من العمر 13 إلى 17 عاماً منذ سبتمبر 2024، بهدف توفير حماية مدمجة تشمل جعل الحسابات خاصة افتراضياً، تقييد الرسائل من الغرباء، وتحديد وقت الاستخدام.

وجاء التحديث الجديد كرد فعل على الضغوط المتزايدة من الآباء والجهات التنظيمية حول العالم بشأن تأثير وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي على الصحة النفسية للمراهقين، خاصة المحتوى المتعلق بالعنف، الاضطرابات الغذائية، أو السلوكيات الخطرة.

وأكدت المنصة أن الهدف هو خلق تجربة أكثر أماناً وملاءمة للعمر، مع منح الآباء سيطرة أكبر دون إلغاء الاستمتاع بالمنصة تماماً.

ويُتوقع أن يساهم هذا التحديث في تقليل تعرض المراهقين للمحتوى الضار، خاصة مع تزايد استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي في تصنيف وفلترة المنشورات عبر الـ Feed والـ Stories وصفحة الاستكشاف.

Instagram has announced a major update for teen accounts, expanding the settings by implementing a new content rating system that aligns with PG-13 age rating standards (like 13+ movies), in a move aimed at enhancing digital safety and protecting users under 18 from inappropriate content.

Under the new update, all user accounts under the age of 18 will automatically be set to the “13+” setting by default, which will hide or reduce the visibility of content containing strong language, dangerous tricks, references to drugs, or other mature topics that may be harmful, and teens will not be able to change this setting or opt out without explicit consent from a parent or guardian.

The platform has also introduced a new, stricter setting called “Limited Content,” which allows parents to apply additional filters that further limit content visibility, including restricting search results and comments.

Meta stated that this update is the largest since the launch of “Teen Accounts” in 2024, and comes after a thorough review of the platform’s policies compared to PG-13 film rating standards, taking into account parents’ opinions.

Instagram began automatically applying “Teen Accounts” to users aged 13 to 17 since September 2024, aiming to provide built-in protections that include making accounts private by default, restricting messages from strangers, and setting usage time limits.

The new update comes in response to increasing pressure from parents and regulatory bodies worldwide regarding the impact of social media on teens’ mental health, particularly concerning content related to violence, eating disorders, or risky behaviors.

The platform emphasized that the goal is to create a safer and age-appropriate experience while giving parents greater control without completely eliminating enjoyment of the platform.

This update is expected to help reduce teens’ exposure to harmful content, especially with the increasing use of artificial intelligence in classifying and filtering posts across the Feed, Stories, and Explore page.
