وسط تأكيدات إعلامية بمقتل قيادي في «حزب الله»، أكد رئيس الوزراء اللبناني نواف سلام، اليوم (الأحد)، أن لبنان مستمر في جهود وقف الحرب الإسرائيلية، وفق مبادرة الرئيس جوزيف عون، وتمكين مؤسسات الدولة من أداء دورها في حماية البلاد.

وقال سلام في كلمة عشية ذكرى الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية التي اندلعت في 13 أبريل 1975: «الجنوب لن يترك مرة أخرى وحيداً في مواجهة الخراب والدمار، وحمايته ستكون بيد دولة واحدة قوية وعادلة»، مضيفاً: «علينا تحصين الداخل، ومنع الفتنة، والتهويل بالحرب الأهلية».

وأشار إلى أنه أخطأ كل من لجأ إلى دعم خارجي فوجد نفسه أسير لعبة أكبر منه.

يذكر أن مبادرة الرئيس اللبناني، التي أعلنها في 9 مارس، تنص على بدء مفاوضات مباشرة بين لبنان وإسرائيل برعاية دولية لوقف التصعيد، ودعوة المجتمع الدولي إلى دعم هدنة شاملة ومسار سياسي موازٍ، على أن تنطلق هذه المفاوضات بشكل متزامن بين الطرفين لتنفيذ بنود المبادرة، ضمن خطة أوسع تقوم على وقف كامل للأعمال القتالية.

من جهة أخرى، ذكرت وسائل إعلام لبنانية مقتل مسؤول وحدة الارتباط والتنسيق في «حزب الله» في الجنوب محمد معنية متأثراً بجراح أصيب بها جراء الغارة التي استهدفت مجمع السيدة الزهراء في صيدا.

Amid media confirmations of the death of a leader in “Hezbollah,” Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam confirmed today (Sunday) that Lebanon continues its efforts to stop the Israeli war, according to the initiative of President Joseph Aoun, and to enable state institutions to perform their role in protecting the country.

Salam stated in a speech on the eve of the anniversary of the Lebanese Civil War, which broke out on April 13, 1975: “The south will not be left alone again in the face of devastation and destruction, and its protection will be in the hands of one strong and just state,” adding: “We must fortify the interior, prevent sedition, and the intimidation of civil war.”

He pointed out that those who resorted to external support have erred and found themselves prisoners of a game larger than themselves.

It is worth mentioning that the Lebanese president’s initiative, announced on March 9, calls for the start of direct negotiations between Lebanon and Israel under international sponsorship to stop the escalation, and invites the international community to support a comprehensive ceasefire and a parallel political track, with these negotiations to commence simultaneously between the two parties to implement the terms of the initiative, as part of a broader plan based on a complete cessation of hostilities.

On another note, Lebanese media reported the death of the head of the liaison and coordination unit in “Hezbollah” in the south, Mohammed Ma’niyeh, who succumbed to injuries sustained during the airstrike that targeted the Sayyida Zainab complex in Sidon.
