سجّلت أسعار الذهب ارتفاعًا طفيفًا اليوم، مدعومة بضعف الدولار، لكنها تتجه لتسجيل أسوأ أداء شهري لها منذ أكثر من 17 عامًا، بعد أن أدّى ارتفاع أسعار الطاقة إلى تراجع الآمال في ‌خفض أسعار الفائدة الأمريكية هذا العام.

وارتفع سعر الذهب في المعاملات الفورية 0.8% إلى 4544.19 دولار للأوقية (الأونصة).

وارتفعت العقود الآجلة ‌الأمريكية ‌للذهب تسليم أبريل 0.3% إلى 4573.20 دولار.

وخسر الذهب نحو 14% منذ بداية الشهر الجاري، متجهًا نحو أكبر انخفاض له منذ أكتوبر 2008، تحت ضغط ارتفاع الدولار. ومع ذلك، ارتفعت الأسعار بنحو 5% حتى الآن لهذا الربع.

وفي المعادن النفيسة الأخرى، ارتفع سعر الفضة في المعاملات الفورية 1.2% إلى 70.81 دولار للأوقية، وصعد سعر البلاتين 0.1% إلى 1901.95 دولار، وزاد سعر البلاديوم 1.1% إلى 1421.45 دولار.

Gold prices recorded a slight increase today, supported by a weak dollar, but they are on track to register their worst monthly performance in over 17 years, after rising energy prices dampened hopes for a reduction in U.S. interest rates this year.

The price of gold in spot transactions rose by 0.8% to $4544.19 per ounce.

U.S. gold futures for April delivery increased by 0.3% to $4573.20.

Gold has lost about 14% since the beginning of this month, heading towards its largest decline since October 2008, under pressure from a rising dollar. However, prices have increased by about 5% so far this quarter.

In other precious metals, the price of silver in spot transactions rose by 1.2% to $70.81 per ounce, platinum prices increased by 0.1% to $1901.95, and palladium prices rose by 1.1% to $1421.45.
