لماذا لا تتأثر المملكة بالأعاصير المدارية؟ – أخبار السعودية
على خلفية ما تم تداوله من شائعات، أكد المتحدث الرسمي للمركز الوطني للأرصاد حسين القحطاني أن المملكة تقع خارج نطاق تكوّن ومسارات الأعاصير المدارية، لارتباطها بمحيطات مفتوحة وبيئات بحرية لا تتوفر في المنطقة.
وأشار إلى أن البحر الأحمر والخليج العربي مسطحات شبه مغلقة، لا تمنح الأعاصير الطاقة ولا المساحة اللازمة للتشكل أو الاستمرار، مبينًا أن ما يُرصد محليًا يقتصر على تأثيرات سحب ركامية قد تنتج عنها ظواهر محدودة كالشواهق المائية أو الأعاصير القمعية، وهي قصيرة ومحدودة النطاق.
وأكد أهمية الاعتماد على المعلومات الرسمية، وتجنّب الانسياق خلف الشائعات أو تفسير الظواهر الجوية خارج سياقها العلمي
In light of the rumors that have been circulating, the official spokesperson for the National Center of Meteorology, Hussein Al-Qahtani, confirmed that the Kingdom is outside the range of formation and paths of tropical cyclones, due to its connection to open oceans and marine environments that are not available in the region.
He pointed out that the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf are semi-closed bodies of water, which do not provide the energy or space necessary for cyclones to form or persist, indicating that what is observed locally is limited to the effects of convective clouds that may produce limited phenomena such as waterspouts or tornadoes, which are short-lived and have a limited range.
He emphasized the importance of relying on official information and avoiding getting swept away by rumors or interpreting weather phenomena outside their scientific context.
