ودّع فريق الأهلي مسابقة كأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين، عقب خسارته من ضيفه الهلال بركلات الترجيح (4 – 2) بعد تعادلهما (1-1)، في المواجهة التي جمعتهما ضمن دور الـ(16)، وذلك على ملعب «الإنماء» بمدينة الملك عبدالله الرياضية في جدة.

ويأتي خروج الأهلي من البطولة بعد تصريحات سابقة للمدير الرياضي بالنادي روي بيدرو، أدلى بها لصحيفة عكاظ، أكد خلالها أن الفريق يستهدف المنافسة على جميع البطولات خلال الموسم الحالي، مشددًا على أن طموحات النادي لا تقف عند حد معين.

وكان«بيدرو» قد أشار في تصريحاته لـ«عكاظ» بتاريخ ١٣ / ١١/ ٢٠٢٥ بأن «لا مجال لأنصاف الطموحات» داخل النادي، وأن الهدف يتمثل في تحقيق جميع البطولات، في إطار العمل المستمر لتطوير الفريق وتعزيز حضوره في مختلف المنافسات.

ويُعد خروج الأهلي من كأس الملك أولى بطولات الموسم التي يخرج منها الفريق هذا الموسم، في وقت تتجه فيه الأنظار نحو بقية الاستحقاقات التي سيخوضها الفريق خلال الفترة القادمة.

Al-Ahli’s exit from the tournament comes after previous statements made by the club’s sports director, Rui Pedro, to Okaz newspaper, in which he confirmed that the team aims to compete in all tournaments during the current season, emphasizing that the club’s ambitions do not have a specific limit.

Pedro had indicated in his statements to Okaz on 13/11/2025 that “there is no room for half-hearted ambitions” within the club, and that the goal is to achieve all championships, as part of the ongoing efforts to develop the team and enhance its presence in various competitions.

The exit of Al-Ahli from the King’s Cup is the first of the season’s tournaments from which the team has been eliminated this season, at a time when attention is turning towards the other challenges that the team will face in the upcoming period.
