الحِراك المستمر لتطوير «جدة التاريخية» هو الثمرة المباشرة للمشروع العملاق الذي أطلقه ولي العهد الأمير محمد بن سلمان، تحت عنوان «إعادة إحياء جدة التاريخية».

ولعل الاهتمام الرسمي، تنفيذاً لتوجيهات القيادة الرشيدة، وضع «جدة التاريخية» في مقدمة الأولويات الوطنية، ما يعكس نجاح الموازنة بين الحفاظ على الأصالة المعمارية المسجلة في قائمة اليونسكو، وضخ دماء العصرنة، بهدف تهيئة المنطقة كمركز جذب استثماري وسياحي.

إن المنطقة التاريخية بآثارها العريقة أثبتت قدرتها على احتضان الفعاليات المحلية والعالمية بأسلوب فريد يمزج بين العراقة والحداثة، ويعزز مكانة المملكة كمركز ثقافي إقليمي ودولي. وتطويرها يجعلها منطقة سياحية كبرى، ومنصة دولية لاستضافة أضخم الفعاليات، مثل مهرجان البحر الأحمر السينمائي الدولي، ويضعها كأبرز الوجهات السياحية محلياً وعالمياً، خصوصاً في مواسم رمضان والأعياد والمناسبات الوطنية.

ومن «قلب البلد» (جدة التاريخية)، بعث وزير البلديات والإسكان ماجد الحقيل، في جولته الأخيرة لها، برسالة واضحة «إن تطوير هذا الإرث يسير وفق أعلى المعايير لضمان تحويله إلى منارة ثقافية وسياحية عالمية». ويعكس الوقوف الميداني للوزير الحقيل داخل أزقة المنطقة التاريخية حجم التطوير في المباني التراثية والساحات العامة، وتسارع خطى الإنجاز في واحد من أكثر المشاريع طموحاً على المستوى العالمي.

ذلك الاهتمام الرسمي للمنطقة يضع مسؤولية عظمى على ملاكها وسكانها، إذ إنهم الشركاء الحقيقيون في هذا الإرث، بالمحافظة على هوية المكان، والمساهمة في تعزيز مكانته، ليس كواجب وطني فحسب، بل كاستثمار لمستقبل الأجيال، لتبقى «جدة التاريخية» حكاية فخر تروى للعالم بلسان أهلها.

The continuous efforts to develop “Historic Jeddah” are the direct result of the giant project launched by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, under the title “Reviving Historic Jeddah.”

This project is not just about restoring stone; it is a comprehensive strategy aimed at making the area a vibrant environment for creativity, a destination where the essence of history meets the aspirations of Vision 2030, thus making “Historic Jeddah” a global model for preserving national identity.

The official interest, in implementation of the wise leadership’s directives, has placed “Historic Jeddah” at the forefront of national priorities, reflecting the success of balancing the preservation of architectural authenticity listed by UNESCO with the infusion of modernity, aiming to prepare the area as a center for investment and tourism attraction.

The historical area, with its ancient artifacts, has proven its ability to host local and global events in a unique style that blends heritage and modernity, enhancing the Kingdom’s status as a regional and international cultural hub. Its development makes it a major tourist area and an international platform for hosting the largest events, such as the Red Sea International Film Festival, positioning it as one of the top tourist destinations both locally and globally, especially during Ramadan, holidays, and national occasions.

From the “Heart of the City” (Historic Jeddah), Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing Majid Al-Hoqail sent a clear message during his recent tour there: “The development of this heritage is proceeding according to the highest standards to ensure its transformation into a global cultural and tourist beacon.” The minister’s on-site presence in the alleys of the historical area reflects the extent of development in heritage buildings and public squares, and the accelerating pace of achievement in one of the most ambitious projects on a global level.

This official interest in the area places a great responsibility on its owners and residents, as they are the true partners in this heritage, tasked with preserving the identity of the place and contributing to enhancing its status, not only as a national duty but also as an investment for the future of generations, so that “Historic Jeddah” remains a tale of pride told to the world in the voice of its people.
