علمت مصادر «عكاظ» أن إدارة نادي الاتحاد بقيادة فهد سندي، تقوم بمجهودات كبيرة لحماية اللاعبين من أي ضغوطات نفسية تبعدهم عن أجواء المنافسة والانجراف خلف الشائعات التي يتعرض لها اللاعبون، إذ طالب مدرب الفريق سيرجيو كونسيساو بالتركيز في المرحلة القادمة وتلافي الأخطاء التي وقع فيها اللاعبون في المواجهة الأخيرة أمام جاره الأهلي والتي خسرها بنتيجة ثلاثة أهداف مقابل هدف، في المباراة التي جمعتهما، على ملعب الإنماء بجدة، ضمن منافسات قمة الجولة الـ(25) من الدوري السعودي للمحترفين (دوري روشن)، حيث قال عقب اللقاء: «التفاصيل الصغيرة أسهمت في صناعة الفارق، لافتًا إلى أن الاتحاد عاد في الشوط الثاني ونجح في تعديل النتيجة واستعادة الثقة، إلا أن الأهلي غيّر أسلوبه بعد الهدف الثاني، واتجه إلى إضاعة الوقت، قبل أن يستقبل الاتحاد الهدف الثالث نتيجة خطأ أنهى المواجهة».

وبيّن أن الأهلي كان الأفضل في بعض فترات اللقاء نتيجة أخطاء فريقه، موضحًا أن المباراة كانت متكافئة في كثير من لحظاتها، وأن الاتحاد نجح في بعض فترات المباراة في تطبيق أسلوب لعبه، فيما اضطر في فترات أخرى إلى التراجع للخلف.
