أقدمت امرأة على قتل طفليها داخل منزل العائلة قبل أن تنتحر، بإحدى المناطق السكنية في فلوريدا الأمريكية.
ووفق تقارير إعلامية محلية، أطلقت مونيكا روباشا (44 عاماً) النار على طفليها جوش (14 عاماً) وإيما (11 عاماً) داخل غرفتيهما، قبل أن توجه السلاح إلى نفسها. وكان زوجها ريتشارد جيمس (45 عاماً) خارج البلاد في رحلة عمل عندما فقد الاتصال بزوجته لمدة يوم ونصف، ما دفعه إلى التواصل مع الشرطة للاطمئنان على العائلة.
وتوجهت عناصر الأمن إلى المنزل الواقع في مقاطعة ماناتي لإجراء فحص روتيني بعد البلاغ، قبل أن يلاحظ الضباط مؤشرات غير طبيعية دفعتهم إلى دخول المنزل. وعند دخولهم، عثروا على أفراد الأسرة الثلاثة مصابين بطلقات نارية داخل المنزل.
وأظهرت التحقيقات الأولية أن الحادثة تبدو نتيجة تخطيط مسبق، فيما رجّح المحققون أن الأم كانت على دراية كاملة بما كانت تقوم به عند ارتكاب الجريمة.
وقال ريك ويلز، الشريف المسؤول عن التحقيق، إن مثل هذه الحوادث قد تقع دون مؤشرات واضحة، مضيفاً أن ما يجري خلف الأبواب المغلقة قد لا يكون معروفاً للآخرين.
من جهته، وصف راندي وارين، مسؤول الإعلام في مكتب شرطة مقاطعة ماناتي، المشهد داخل المنزل بأنه كان صادماً حتى بالنسبة للضباط الذين تعاملوا مع الواقعة، مشيراً إلى أن الأب عاد لاحقاً إلى الولايات المتحدة بعد رحلته ليتم إبلاغه بوفاة زوجته وطفليه.
وأضاف المسؤول الأمني أن التحقيقات لم تكشف حتى الآن عن أي مؤشرات سابقة كانت تنذر بوقوع هذه الجريمة.

According to local media reports, Monica Robasha (44 years old) shot her children, Josh (14 years old) and Emma (11 years old), inside their rooms before turning the gun on herself. Her husband, Richard James (45 years old), was out of the country on a business trip when he lost contact with his wife for a day and a half, prompting him to reach out to the police to check on the family.
Security personnel went to the home located in Manatee County to conduct a routine check following the report, before officers noticed unusual signs that led them to enter the house. Upon entering, they found the three family members injured by gunfire inside the home.
Initial investigations indicated that the incident appeared to be premeditated, while investigators suggested that the mother was fully aware of what she was doing when committing the crime.
Rick Wells, the sheriff in charge of the investigation, stated that such incidents can occur without clear indicators, adding that what happens behind closed doors may not be known to others.
For his part, Randy Warren, the media officer at the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, described the scene inside the home as shocking even for the officers who dealt with the incident, noting that the father later returned to the United States after his trip to be informed of the deaths of his wife and children.
The security official added that the investigations have not yet revealed any prior indicators that would have warned of this crime.
