هيلاري كلينتون أمام تحقيق إبستين: لا لقاء ولا طائرة ولا جزيرة – أخبار السعودية
أدلت وزيرة الخارجية الأمريكية السابقة هيلاري كلينتون بشهادة مغلقة ضمن التحقيقات الجارية في قضية رجل الأعمال الراحل جيفري إبستين أمام لجنة الرقابة والإصلاح الحكومي في مجلس النواب الأمريكي، وذلك في جلسة عقدت بمدينة تشاباكوا في ولاية نيويورك، وسط تصعيد سياسي متزايد حول الملف.
وأكدت كلينتون في بيان افتتاحي نشرته عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي نفيها القاطع أي صلة لها بإبستين أو شريكته غيسلين ماكسويل، مشيرة إلى أنها سبق أن قدمت إفادة خطية تحت القسم تؤكد عدم معرفتها بأي من أنشطتهما الإجرامية أو التحقيقات المرتبطة بهما.
نفي قاطع
وشددت هيلاري كلينتون على أنها لا تملك أي معلومات يمكن أن تساعد في التحقيق، مؤكدة أنها لا تتذكر لقاء إبستين مطلقاً، ولم تستقل طائرته الخاصة، ولم تزُر جزيرته أو أيّاً من ممتلكاته، قائلة إن ليس لديها ما تضيفه إلى ذلك.
وأبدت استنكارها للجرائم المرتبطة بالقضية، لكنها انتقدت في الوقت ذاته استدعاءها للشهادة، معتبرة أن الإجراءات تفتقر إلى الشفافية وتحمل طابعاً سياسياً، واتهمت اللجنة بمحاولة خدمة مصالح حزبية بدلاً من السعي لتحقيق العدالة للضحايا.
اتهامات متبادلة
في المقابل، أعلن الديموقراطيون في مجلس الشيوخ بدء جهد مستقل لمراجعة ملايين الصفحات غير المحجوبة من ملفات إبستين، متهمين وزارة العدل بمحاولة التستر على معلومات مرتبطة بالقضية.
وقال زعيم الأقلية الديموقراطية في مجلس الشيوخ تشاك شومر إن الديموقراطيين سيواصلون مراجعة الوثائق، مؤكداً أن ما وصفه بـ«الحقيقة الكاملة» سيظهر خلال الفترة القادمة.
تسريب يوقف الجلسة
وشهدت الجلسة توقفاً مؤقتاً بعد نشر المعلق السياسي بيني جونسون صورة من داخل الاجتماع المغلق على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، مشيراً إلى أن النائبة لورين بوبيرت زودته بها.
وأدى التسريب إلى تعليق الجلسة مؤقتاً للتحقق من احتمال انتهاك قواعد مجلس النواب المتعلقة بسرية الاجتماعات.
شهادات مرتقبة
وأكد رئيس اللجنة جيمس كومر أن شهادة كلينتون ستكون مطولة، مشيراً إلى نشر التسجيل والنص بعد الموافقة الرسمية.
ومن المقرر أن يدلي الرئيس السابق بيل كلينتون بشهادته لاحقاً، فيما طالب النائب الديموقراطي روبرت غارسيا باستجواب الرئيس دونالد ترمب أيضاً، معتبراً أن استدعاء بيل كلينتون يفتح الباب أمام استجواب شخصيات أخرى.
وتأتي هذه التطورات في ظل استمرار الجدل السياسي حول قضية إبستين، الذي توفي عام 2019 أثناء احتجازه بانتظار محاكمته، وسط مطالب متزايدة بالكشف الكامل عن تفاصيل القضية والجهات المرتبطة بها.

In contrast, Senate Democrats announced the start of an independent effort to review millions of unredacted pages from Epstein’s files, accusing the Department of Justice of attempting to cover up information related to the case.
Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer stated that Democrats will continue to review the documents, asserting that what he described as the “full truth” will emerge in the coming period.
Leak Halts Session
The session experienced a temporary halt after political commentator Benny Johnson posted a photo from inside the closed meeting on social media, indicating that Representative Lauren Boebert had provided it to him.
The leak led to a temporary suspension of the session to verify the potential violation of House rules regarding the confidentiality of meetings.
Anticipated Testimonies
Committee Chairman James Comer confirmed that Clinton’s testimony would be lengthy, indicating that the recording and transcript would be published after official approval.
Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to testify later, while Democratic Representative Robert Garcia has called for questioning President Donald Trump as well, considering that summoning Bill Clinton opens the door for questioning other figures.
These developments come amid ongoing political debate surrounding the Epstein case, who died in 2019 while in custody awaiting trial, amidst increasing demands for full disclosure of the case details and the parties involved.
