بدأ أمس تشغيل مطار الجوف الدولي الجديد رسميًا، أحد مشاريع تجمع مطارات الثاني، حيث استقبل المطار أولى رحلاته ضمن عملية انتقال كاملة للعمليات التشغيلية من المطار القديم إلى مقره الجديد.

ويمثل المطار الجديد، نقلة نوعية في قدراته التشغيلية، إذ تبلغ طاقته الاستيعابية 1.6 مليون مسافر سنويًا، مقارنةً بنحو 175 ألف مسافر في المطار السابق، ما يعكس نموًا يتجاوز 800% في القدرة على استقبال المسافرين.

وصُمّمت صالة السفر الجديدة وفق أحدث المعايير العالمية، مع إبراز الهوية التراثية لمنطقة الجوف في تفاصيلها المعمارية. وتمتد الصالة على مساحة 24 ألف متر مربع، وتضم 16 منصة لإنهاء إجراءات السفر، بينها منصتان للخدمة الذاتية، إضافة إلى 11 بوابة للمغادرة والوصول، و5 منصات جوازات مزدوجة، إلى جانب 648 موقفًا للسيارات ومجموعة من المرافق والخدمات المتكاملة. ويشتمل المطار على غرف حسية مخصصة لخدمة المسافرين من ذوي اضطراب طيف التوحد، وتجهيزات متكاملة لذوي الإعاقة، فضلًا عن مساحات تجارية تبلغ 1,700 متر مربع، بما يعزز تجربة سفر شاملة تراعي احتياجات جميع الفئات.

وشهد يوم أمس تشغيل آخر رحلة في المطار القديم والقادمة من الرياض، إيذانًا بختام مرحلة تشغيلية امتدت لسنوات. وتمّت عملية الانتقال إلى المطار الجديد وفق خطة محكمة وبالتنسيق بين مختلف الجهات ذات العلاقة لضمان انسيابية الحركة واستمرارية الخدمات دون انقطاع.

The new Al-Jouf International Airport officially began operations yesterday, as part of the second airport cluster projects, receiving its first flights in a complete transition of operational activities from the old airport to its new location.

The new airport represents a qualitative leap in its operational capabilities, with a capacity of 1.6 million passengers annually, compared to about 175,000 passengers at the previous airport, reflecting a growth of over 800% in the ability to accommodate travelers.

The new terminal was designed according to the latest global standards, highlighting the heritage identity of the Al-Jouf region in its architectural details. The terminal spans an area of 24,000 square meters and includes 16 check-in counters, two of which are self-service, in addition to 11 departure and arrival gates, and 5 dual passport control counters, along with 648 parking spaces and a range of integrated facilities and services. The airport also features sensory rooms dedicated to serving travelers with autism spectrum disorder, as well as comprehensive facilities for people with disabilities, in addition to 1,700 square meters of commercial space, enhancing a comprehensive travel experience that meets the needs of all groups.

Yesterday marked the operation of the last flight from the old airport arriving from Riyadh, signaling the conclusion of an operational phase that lasted for years. The transition to the new airport was carried out according to a meticulous plan and in coordination with various relevant entities to ensure smooth movement and continuity of services without interruption.
