يواجه مانشستر سيتي خطر خصم ما يصل إلى 60 نقطة من رصيده في بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي «بريميرليغ»، في حال إدانته بمخالفة مالية مزعومة ارتكبت بين عامي 2009 و2018.

واختُتم التحقيق في الانتهاكات المزعومة للوائح الدوري الإنجليزي في ديسمبر 2024، بعد جلسة استماع استمرت 12 أسبوعاً، إلا أن اللجنة المستقلة لم تُصدر قرارها النهائي بعد.

حجم الأدلة والمقارنة بالسوابق

وأوضح المتخصص في الشؤون المالية لكرة القدم كيران ماغواير أن نحو 500 ألف دليل قدّمها كل من الدفاع والادعاء خلال جلسات المحكمة.

وأضاف في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة «ديلي إكسبريس»: «إذا نظرنا إلى السوابق، نجد أن إيفرتون ونوتنغهام فورست قد تعرضا لخصم 6 و4 نقاط على التوالي بسبب مخالفة امتدت لثلاث سنوات، أما الاتهامات الموجهة لمانشستر سيتي فتغطي فترة 9 سنوات، لذا فالأمر أكبر بكثير، من المرجح أن تكون العقوبة كبيرة حال الإدانة».

العقوبة المحتملة

وتابع: «لذا أعتقد أنه يجب إضافة صفر إلى ما رأيناه من نوتنغهام فورست وإيفرتون، وبالتالي فإن خصم ما بين 40 و60 نقطة سيكون، في رأيي، منطقياً ومتوافقاً مع القرارات السابقة».

واختتم حديثه قائلاً: «بالنظر إلى الحالات المشابهة لقضايا الاحتيال، أعتقد أننا ربما وصلنا إلى المراحل النهائية لصدور الحكم».

Manchester City faces the risk of having up to 60 points deducted from its tally in the English Premier League if found guilty of alleged financial misconduct committed between 2009 and 2018.

The investigation into the alleged breaches of Premier League regulations concluded in December 2024, after a 12-week hearing, but the independent panel has not yet issued its final decision.

The Volume of Evidence and Comparison with Precedents

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire explained that around 500,000 pieces of evidence were presented by both the defense and prosecution during the court sessions.

He added in statements reported by the Daily Express: “If we look at the precedents, we find that Everton and Nottingham Forest were deducted 6 and 4 points respectively for a breach that lasted three years, while the charges against Manchester City cover a period of 9 years, so this is much larger; it is likely that the penalty will be significant if found guilty.”

The Potential Penalty

He continued: “Therefore, I believe a zero should be added to what we saw from Nottingham Forest and Everton, and thus a deduction of between 40 and 60 points would, in my opinion, be reasonable and consistent with previous decisions.”

He concluded by saying: “Looking at similar cases of fraud, I think we may be reaching the final stages of the ruling.”
