كشفت الخدمة السرية الأمريكية، اليوم (الأحد)، قتل رجل مسلح على يد عملائها، بالتعاون مع الشرطة المحلية في ولاية فلوريدا، إثر اقتحامه منطقة محمية في منتجع مارالاجو الخاص بالرئيس دونالد ترمب ​في بالم بيتش ⁠بفلوريدا.

وأكد المتحدث باسم الخدمة السرية أنتوني جوجليلمي أن الرجل، الذي بدا أنه في أوائل العشرينات من عمره، كان يحمل ما يبدو أنها بندقية وعلبة وقود، موضحاً أنه شوهد عند البوابة الشمالية ​للمنتجع نحو الساعة 1:30 صباحاً بتوقيت شرق الولايات المتحدة (0630 بتوقيت غرينتش).

عائلة الضحية تبحث عنه

وقال جوجليلمي: «عائلته أبلغت عن فقدانه قبل أيام، ويعتقد المحققون أنه توجّه جنوباً وحصل على البندقية خلال الطريق»، مضيفاً: «صندوق البندقية عُثر عليه داخل مركبة الرجل بعد الحادثة».

وأشار رئيس مكتب التحقيقات الفيدرالي (إف بي أي) كاش باتيل في منشورات على حسابه في «إكس»، إلى أن المكتب سيكرس جميع الموارد اللازمة للتحقيق.

وأشار الـ«أف بي أي» إلى أن الرئيس ترمب لم يكن موجوداً في فلوريدا أثناء الحادثة، مؤكداً مواصلة العمل في موقع الحادثة لجمع الأدلة.

من جهتها، قالت المتحدثة باسم البيت الأبيض كارولين ليفيت: «في منتصف الليل، بينما كان معظم الأمريكيين نائمين، تصرفت الخدمة السرية الأمريكية بسرعة وحسم لتحييد شخص مجنون، مسلح بمسدس وعبوة غاز، اقتحم منزل الرئيس ترمب»، موضحة أن سلطات إنفاذ القانون الفيدرالية تعمل على مدار الساعة طوال أيام الأسبوع للحفاظ على أمن البلاد وحماية جميع الأمريكيين.

تحذيرات أمنية

ودعت السلطات السكان في محيط موقع إطلاق النار إلى مراجعة كاميرات المراقبة الخارجية لديهم وإبلاغ السلطات فور ملاحظة أي نشاط مريب، فيما قال ريك برادشو قائد شرطة مقاطعة با لم بيتش: إن اثنين من عناصر الخدمة السرية الأمريكية ونائب قائد شرطة المقاطعة واجهوا الرجل وأمروه بإلقاء البندقية وعلبة الوقود لكن الرجل ترك عبوة الوقود ورفع البندقية في وضع التصويب وإطلاق النار، ما دفع قوات الأمن إلى إطلاق النار، موضحاً أن الحادثة لم تسفر عن إصابة أي من عناصر إنفاذ القانون، وأن العملاء المشاركين في الحادثة سيُوضعون في إجازة إدارية خلال التحقيق.

وتتزايد حالات العنف السياسي في الولايات المتحدة، خصوصاً أن الرئيس ترمب تعرض في عام 2024، لمحاولتَي اغتيال، واحدة في ملعب الغولف الخاص به في وست بالم بيتش، كما نجا من محاولة اغتيال أخرى خلال تجمع انتخابي في بتلر بولاية بنسلفانيا.

The U.S. Secret Service revealed today (Sunday) that a man armed with a weapon was shot dead by its agents in collaboration with local police in Florida after he breached a protected area at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

Spokesman for the Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmi, confirmed that the man, who appeared to be in his early twenties, was carrying what seemed to be a rifle and a fuel canister, noting that he was seen at the north gate of the resort around 1:30 AM Eastern Time (0630 GMT).

The Victim’s Family is Searching for Him

Guglielmi stated, “His family reported him missing a few days ago, and investigators believe he headed south and acquired the rifle along the way,” adding, “The rifle case was found inside the man’s vehicle after the incident.”

FBI Director Kash Patel noted in posts on his account on “X” that the bureau will dedicate all necessary resources to the investigation.

The FBI indicated that President Trump was not in Florida at the time of the incident, confirming that work at the scene continues to collect evidence.

For her part, White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt said, “In the middle of the night, while most Americans were asleep, the U.S. Secret Service acted swiftly and decisively to neutralize a deranged individual armed with a gun and a gas canister who breached President Trump’s home,” explaining that federal law enforcement authorities work around the clock to ensure the safety of the country and protect all Americans.

Security Warnings

Authorities urged residents in the vicinity of the shooting site to review their outdoor surveillance cameras and report any suspicious activity to the authorities immediately, while Rick Bradshaw, the Palm Beach County Sheriff, stated that two U.S. Secret Service agents and the deputy sheriff confronted the man and ordered him to drop the rifle and the fuel canister, but the man dropped the fuel canister and raised the rifle in a shooting position, prompting security forces to open fire. He clarified that the incident did not result in any injuries to law enforcement personnel, and the agents involved in the incident will be placed on administrative leave during the investigation.

Political violence is on the rise in the United States, especially since President Trump faced two assassination attempts in 2024, one at his golf course in West Palm Beach, and he survived another assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
