أخبار لايت: الرئيس الأوكراني يطالب بالضغط على روسيا لتقديم تنازلات – أخبار السعودية

بعد مطالبة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب له بالمضي قدماً في محادثات السلام، أكد الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي، اليوم (السبت)، أنه يشعر بقليل من الضغط، مشدداً على أهمية تقديم روسيا بعض التنازلات في محادثات جنيف المرتقبة.

وفي رده على سؤال حول دعوات أمريكا لإجراء الانتخابات، قال زيلينسكي في ندوة خلال مؤتمر ميونيخ للأمن في ألمانيا: «امنحونا وقفاً لإطلاق النار لمدة شهرين، وسنجري الانتخابات».

وأضاف: «ترمب قادر على ذلك، الضغط على الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين، وفرض وقف لإطلاق النار، عندها سيعدل برلماننا القانون وسنجري الانتخابات».

وأشار إلى أن أوكرانيا ما زالت تقدم تنازلات في عدة قضايا، موضحاً أن بلاده مستعدة لمناقشة العديد من القضايا.

وشدد بالقول: «أوكرانيا لا يمكنها ببساطة الهروب من أراضيها مع مئات الآلاف من الناس كحل وسط، لا نسمع تنازلات من الجانب الروسي، نريد أن نسمع منهم شيئاً».

وأضاف: «بإمكاننا أيضاً أن نعرض وقف إطلاق النار على الروس، إذا أجروا انتخابات في روسيا».

وأشار إلى أن «بوتين لم يعد مهتماً بأي شيء آخر سوى الحرب، لأنه لا يستطيع تخيل الحياة من دون سلطة أو بعد السلطة»، مبيناً أن بلاده تحتاج إلى ضمانات أمنية قوية.

وشدد بالقول: «يجب أن تجيب الضمانات عن سؤال: إلى متى لن تكون هناك حرب أخرى؟»، معرباً عن أمله في أن يسمع ترمب والكونغرس هذه النقطة بوضوح.

وأشار إلى أنه «من الوهم الاعتقاد بإمكانية إنهاء هذه الحرب بشكلٍ موثوق بتقسيم أوكرانيا، تماماً كما كان من الوهم الاعتقاد بأن التضحية بتشيكوسلوفاكيا ستنقذ أوروبا من حربٍ طاحنة».

After U.S. President Donald Trump urged him to move forward with peace talks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed today (Saturday) that he feels a bit of pressure, emphasizing the importance of Russia making some concessions in the upcoming Geneva talks.

In response to a question about America’s calls for elections, Zelensky said at a seminar during the Munich Security Conference in Germany: “Give us a ceasefire for two months, and we will hold elections.”

He added: “Trump is capable of that, pressuring Russian President Vladimir Putin and imposing a ceasefire; then our parliament will amend the law, and we will hold elections.”

He pointed out that Ukraine is still making concessions on several issues, explaining that his country is ready to discuss many matters.

He stressed by saying: “Ukraine cannot simply escape from its territory with hundreds of thousands of people as a compromise; we do not hear concessions from the Russian side; we want to hear something from them.”

He added: “We can also offer a ceasefire to the Russians if they hold elections in Russia.”

He noted that “Putin is no longer interested in anything else but war, because he cannot imagine life without power or after power,” indicating that his country needs strong security guarantees.

He emphasized by saying: “The guarantees must answer the question: How long will there be no other war?” expressing hope that Trump and Congress will hear this point clearly.

He pointed out that “it is an illusion to believe that this war can be reliably ended by dividing Ukraine, just as it was an illusion to believe that sacrificing Czechoslovakia would save Europe from a devastating war.”
