اعتبر وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ماركو روبيو أن الاتفاق مع الجانب الإيراني صعب للغاية. وقال في مقابلة مع شبكة «بلومبيرغ نيوز» في ميونيخ اليوم (السبت): إن ترمب يفضل إبرام اتفاق مع إيران، لكن ذلك صعب للغاية.

ترمب مستعد للقاء أي شخص

وترك الباب مفتوحاً أمام احتمال لقاء الرئيس الأمريكي مع المرشد الإيراني علي خامنئي. وأضاف: «الدول القومية بحاجة إلى التفاعل مع بعضها البعض، أنا أعمل تحت قيادة رئيس مستعد للقاء أي شخص.. أنا واثق تماماً من أنه إذا قال خامنئي غداً إنه يريد لقاء الرئيس ترمب، فإن الرئيس سيلتقيه، ليس لأنه يتفق معه، بل لأنه يعتقد أن هذه هي الطريقة لحل المشكلات في العالم».

وتجيء تصريحات روبيو وسط تصعيد الولايات المتحدة للحشد العسكري في الشرق الأوسط بعد إرسال البنتاغون حاملة طائرات ثانية ومجموعتها الضاربة إلى المنطقة، فيما لوح ترمب الجمعة مجدداً بتغيير النظام في إيران، وسط حديث عن احتمال توجيه ضربة أمريكية.

حاملة طائرات إضافية

وقال مسؤولون أمريكيون، أمس (الجمعة)، إن وزارة الدفاع سترسل حاملة طائرات إضافية إلى الشرق الأوسط، مضيفة آلاف الجنود إلى جانب طائرات مقاتلة ومدمرات صواريخ موجهة وقوة نارية أخرى قادرة على شن هجمات والدفاع عنها.

وأظهرت صور لأقمار اصطناعية تحرك حاملة الطائرات جيرالد فورد USS Gerald R. Ford، ومجموعتها الضاربة، من قبالة ساحل جزيرة سانت توماس في جزر فيرجن، لتترك منطقة تمركزها السابقة في منطقة الكاريبي، لتتجه نحو منطقة الشرق الأوسط.

محادثات مرتقبة في جنيف

وكان روبيو ماركو قال إن ترمب يفضل إبرام اتفاق مع إيران لكن ذلك «صعب للغاية». وأضاف في تصريحات على هامش مؤتمر ميونيخ للأمن أن المبعوثين الأمريكيين ستيف ويتكوف وجاريد كوشنر سيعقدان بعض الاجتماعات قريباً.

فيما كشف مسؤولان أمريكيان أن واشنطن تستعد لاحتمال شن عمليات متواصلة تستمر أسابيع ضد إيران، إذا أمر ترمب بذلك، ما قد يصبح «صراعاً أكثر خطورة عما شهدناه من قبل بين البلدين»، فيما لوح الرئيس الأمريكي مجدداً باحتمال «تغيير النظام» في طهران، معتبراً أنه «أفضل شيء يمكن أن يحدث». ولفت إلى أن «الإيرانيين يتحدثون منذ سنوات وسنوات دون أن يفعلوا شيئاً». واعتبر أنه في بعض الأحيان يجب أن تبث الخوف في قلب الخصوم، في إشارة إلى استعراض القوة العسكرية.

وأوضح أحد المسؤولين أن الجيش الأمريكي يمكن أن يضرب في حملة مستمرة المنشآت الحكومية والأمنية الإيرانية، وليس فقط البنى التحتية النووية، لافتاً إلى أن التخطيط الجاري هذه المرة «أكثر تعقيداً».

وأضاف أن الولايات المتحدة تتوقع تماماً أن ترد إيران، ما يؤدي إلى تبادل الضربات والانتقامات على مدى فترة من الزمن.

وكان الرئيس الأمريكي أعلن قبل أيام أنه منح طهران ما يقارب الشهر من أجل التوصل إلى اتفاق حول برنامجها، وإلا فإن «أموراً سيئة جداً ستحصل». فيما أكد البيت الأبيض أن الخيارات كافة وضعت على الطاولة من أجل اتخاذ قراره بشأن إيران.

Trump is ready to meet anyone

He left the door open for the possibility of a meeting between the U.S. president and Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. He added, “Nation-states need to interact with each other; I work under a president who is ready to meet anyone… I am completely confident that if Khamenei says tomorrow that he wants to meet President Trump, the president will meet him, not because he agrees with him, but because he believes that this is the way to solve problems in the world.”

Rubio’s statements come amid the U.S. escalating its military buildup in the Middle East after the Pentagon sent a second aircraft carrier and its strike group to the region, while Trump hinted again on Friday at regime change in Iran, amid talk of a potential U.S. strike.

Additional aircraft carrier

U.S. officials said yesterday (Friday) that the Department of Defense will send an additional aircraft carrier to the Middle East, adding thousands of soldiers along with fighter jets, guided missile destroyers, and other firepower capable of launching attacks and defending them.

Satellite images showed the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier and its strike group moving from off the coast of Saint Thomas Island in the Virgin Islands, leaving its previous deployment area in the Caribbean to head toward the Middle East.

Expected talks in Geneva

Marco Rubio said that Trump prefers to reach an agreement with Iran, but that is “extremely difficult.” He added in statements on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference that U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will hold some meetings soon.

Meanwhile, two U.S. officials revealed that Washington is preparing for the possibility of conducting continuous operations lasting weeks against Iran if Trump orders it, which could become “a more dangerous conflict than what we have seen before between the two countries,” while the U.S. president hinted again at the possibility of “regime change” in Tehran, considering it “the best thing that could happen.” He noted that “the Iranians have been talking for years and years without doing anything.” He believed that sometimes fear must be instilled in the hearts of adversaries, referring to the display of military power.

One official explained that the U.S. military could strike Iranian government and security facilities in a continuous campaign, not just nuclear infrastructure, noting that the planning underway this time is “more complex.”

He added that the United States fully expects Iran to respond, leading to a cycle of strikes and retaliations over a period of time.

The U.S. president announced days ago that he had given Tehran about a month to reach an agreement regarding its program, otherwise “very bad things will happen.” Meanwhile, the White House confirmed that all options are on the table for making its decision regarding Iran.
