225 مليون دولار تمويل لسورية من البنك الدولي – أخبار السعودية
وافق البنك الدولي على تقديم تمويل بقيمة 225 مليون دولار على شكل منح عبر المؤسسة الدولية للتنمية لدعم مشروعي المياه والصحة في سورية، في خطوة تهدف إلى تعزيز الخدمات الأساسية وتحسين الظروف المعيشية.
ويتوزع التمويل على مشروع لإعادة تأهيل قطاع المياه بقيمة 150 مليون دولار ويركز على إصلاح شبكات المياه والصرف الصحي، وآخر لدعم القطاع الصحي بقيمة 75 مليون دولار لتحسين الوصول إلى الرعاية الصحية ورفع كفاءة الخدمات المقدمة.
تحسين الخدمات الحيوية
ومن المتوقع أن يستفيد نحو 4.5 مليون شخص من هذه المشاريع التي تندرج ضمن جهود دعم التعافي المبكر وتعزيز الاستقرار، بما يسهم في تحسين الخدمات الحيوية ودعم عودة النازحين.
وأوضح وزير المالية السوري محمد يسر برنية أن المنحة البالغة 225 مليون دولار أمريكي، التي وافق مجلس المديرين التنفيذيين في البنك الدولي على تقديمها لسورية تأتي دعماً لجهود البلاد في تعزيز كفاءة تقديم الخدمات العامة في قطاعي المياه والصحة، مشيراً إلى التوجه نحو إطلاق مشاريع إضافية يجري التحضير لها بمنح في مجالات حيوية، تشمل القطاع المالي والمصرفي، والتعليم، والحماية الاجتماعية.
The World Bank has approved funding of $225 million in the form of grants through the International Development Association to support water and health projects in Syria, in a move aimed at enhancing essential services and improving living conditions.
The funding is distributed across a $150 million project for rehabilitating the water sector, focusing on repairing water and sewage networks, and another $75 million project to support the health sector to improve access to healthcare and increase the efficiency of services provided.
Improving Vital Services
About 4.5 million people are expected to benefit from these projects, which fall under efforts to support early recovery and enhance stability, contributing to the improvement of vital services and supporting the return of displaced persons.
Syrian Minister of Finance Mohammad Yasser Barnieh explained that the $225 million grant, which the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors approved for Syria, comes in support of the country’s efforts to enhance the efficiency of public service delivery in the water and health sectors, noting the intention to launch additional projects that are being prepared with grants in vital areas, including the financial and banking sector, education, and social protection.
