قوقل تتيح تغيير عنوان Gmail دون فقدان البيانات – أخبار السعودية
في خطوة تهدف إلى تعزيز الاحترافية الرقمية للمستخدمين، أعلنت شركة Google إطلاق ميزة جديدة تتيح لمستخدمي خدمة Gmail في الولايات المتحدة تغيير اسم المستخدم الخاص بهم – أي الجزء الذي يسبق @gmail – دون الحاجة إلى إنشاء حساب جديد أو فقدان بياناتهم.
وتأتي هذه الخطوة استجابة لواقع يواجهه الكثيرون، حيث لم يعد استخدام عناوين بريد إلكتروني قديمة أو طريفة – مثل تلك التي أنشئت في سنوات المراهقة – مناسبًا في السياقات المهنية، خاصة عند التقدم للوظائف أو التعامل الرسمي.
كيف تعمل الميزة الجديدة؟
وبموجب التحديث الجديد، يمكن للمستخدمين تعديل عنوان بريدهم الإلكتروني مع الاحتفاظ بكامل رسائلهم وبياناتهم، بما في ذلك الصور وسجل المراسلات، إضافة إلى استمرار استقبال الرسائل على العنوانين القديم والجديد معًا. كما يمكنهم الاحتفاظ بالبريد القديم كخيار احتياطي.
وأوضحت قوقل أن إمكانية تغيير اسم المستخدم ستكون متاحة مرة واحدة فقط كل 12 شهرًا، في إطار الحفاظ على استقرار الحسابات وتقليل احتمالات إساءة الاستخدام.
من جانبه، صرّح الرئيس التنفيذي للشركة سوندار بيتشاي، بأن الميزة الجديدة ستمنح المستخدمين مرونة أكبر في تحديث هويتهم الرقمية دون التضحية بتاريخهم أو بياناتهم.
وأضاف في منشور له عبر منصة إكس، أن المستخدمين لم يعودوا مضطرين للاحتفاظ بعناوين بريد تعود إلى سنوات قديمة، حتى وإن كانت تحمل طابعًا شخصيًا أو مرحًا في ذلك الوقت.
وكان المستخدمون في السابق مضطرين لإنشاء حساب Gmail جديد بالكامل إذا أرادوا تغيير عنوان بريدهم، وهو ما كان يتطلب نقل البيانات يدويًا، أما الآن، فقد أصبح بالإمكان إجراء التغيير بسلاسة من خلال إعدادات الحساب.
كيف تغير اسم حسابك على Gmail؟
1 – ادخل إلى إعدادات حسابك على Google.
2 – اضغط على المعلومات الشخصية (Personal info).
3 – اختر البريد الإلكتروني ثم بريد Google Account.
4 – ستظهر لك خيار تغيير بريد Google Account، حيث يمكنك اختيار اسم مستخدم جديد متاح بسهولة.
هذه الميزة تمثل نقلة نوعية بعد أكثر من 20 عاماً على إطلاق Gmail، حيث كان اسم المستخدم ثابتاً إلى الأبد.
يُذكر أن عناوين البريد الإلكتروني لم تعد تقتصر على إرسال الرسائل فقط، بل أصبحت عنصرًا أساسيًا في الحياة الرقمية اليومية، بدءًا من تسجيل الدخول إلى المنصات المختلفة، وصولًا إلى دورها البارز في التفاعلات المهنية مثل طلبات التوظيف.
حتى الآن، لم تعلن قوقل ما إذا كانت هذه الميزة ستُتاح عالميًا خارج الولايات المتحدة.
In a move aimed at enhancing the digital professionalism of users, Google has announced the launch of a new feature that allows Gmail users in the United States to change their username – the part before @gmail – without the need to create a new account or lose their data.
This step comes in response to a reality faced by many, where using old or quirky email addresses – such as those created during teenage years – is no longer suitable in professional contexts, especially when applying for jobs or engaging in formal communication.
How does the new feature work?
Under the new update, users can modify their email address while retaining all their messages and data, including photos and correspondence history, in addition to continuing to receive messages at both the old and new addresses simultaneously. They can also keep the old email as a backup option.
Google clarified that the ability to change the username will be available only once every 12 months, as part of maintaining account stability and reducing the likelihood of misuse.
For his part, the company’s CEO Sundar Pichai stated that the new feature will provide users with greater flexibility in updating their digital identity without sacrificing their history or data.
He added in a post on the X platform that users are no longer required to hold onto email addresses from many years ago, even if they had a personal or fun touch at that time.
Previously, users had to create an entirely new Gmail account if they wanted to change their email address, which required manually transferring data. Now, the change can be made smoothly through account settings.
How to change your Gmail account name?
1 – Go to your Google account settings.
2 – Click on Personal info.
3 – Select Email, then Google Account Email.
4 – You will see the option to change your Google Account Email, where you can easily choose a new available username.
This feature represents a significant shift after more than 20 years since the launch of Gmail, where the username was fixed forever.
It is worth noting that email addresses are no longer limited to sending messages only; they have become an essential element of daily digital life, from logging into various platforms to their prominent role in professional interactions such as job applications.
So far, Google has not announced whether this feature will be available globally outside the United States.
