اعتراف دولي بجهود السعودية في حماية الحياة الفطرية – أخبار السعودية
حصدت المملكة العربية السعودية، ممثلة بالمركز الوطني لتنمية الحياة الفطرية، شهادة «الريادة المتميزة للأنواع المهاجرة» التي تمنحها اتفاقية CMS، وذلك خلال مؤتمر الأطراف الـ15 في مدينة كامبو غراندي بالبرازيل. وجاء التكريم تقديراً لجهود المملكة في مكافحة الصيد غير المشروع والاتجار بالأنواع المهاجرة في جنوب غرب آسيا خلال الفترة 2026 – 2028م، امتداداً لتكريم سابق عام 2024م. وكانت المملكة واحدة من 9 دول فقط من أصل 132 دولة نالت هذا التقدير، ما يعكس مكانتها المتقدمة في حماية الأنواع المهاجرة إقليمياً ودولياً. وأكد الرئيس التنفيذي للمركز الوطني لتنمية الحياة الفطرية الدكتور محمد علي قربان، أن هذا التكريم يعكس جهود المملكة في حماية الحياة الفطرية وتعزيز التنوع الأحيائي، مستفيدة من موقعها على مسارات الهجرة وتنوع موائلها. وأوضح، أن المملكة عملت على تطوير الأنظمة المنظمة للصيد، وتعزيز الرقابة والامتثال، وتطوير الأنظمة الرقمية للتراخيص، إضافة إلى رفع الوعي البيئي والمشاركة المجتمعية. كما وسّعت المملكة المناطق المحمية واستعادت الموائل الحيوية، وعززت أنظمة الرصد وجمع البيانات، وأعادت توطين نحو 10 آلاف كائن فطري عبر 21 برنامجاً للإكثار وإعادة التوطين، إلى جانب تنفيذ إجراءات لحماية الطيور من مخاطر خطوط الضغط العالي. وتواصل المملكة دعم فريق العمل التابع لاتفاقية CMS المعني بالتصدي للصيد غير المشروع في جنوب غرب آسيا، وتعزيز التعاون الدولي في حماية الأنواع المهاجرة.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the National Center for Wildlife Development, has received the “Outstanding Leadership for Migratory Species” certificate awarded by the CMS Convention during the 15th Conference of the Parties held in Campo Grande, Brazil. This recognition comes in appreciation of the Kingdom’s efforts in combating illegal hunting and trafficking of migratory species in South West Asia during the period 2026 – 2028, following a previous recognition in 2024. The Kingdom was one of only 9 countries out of 132 that received this honor, reflecting its advanced position in the protection of migratory species both regionally and internationally. Dr. Mohammed Ali Qurban, the CEO of the National Center for Wildlife Development, confirmed that this recognition reflects the Kingdom’s efforts in protecting wildlife and enhancing biodiversity, benefiting from its location on migration routes and the diversity of its habitats. He explained that the Kingdom has worked on developing regulations governing hunting, enhancing monitoring and compliance, and developing digital licensing systems, in addition to raising environmental awareness and community participation. The Kingdom has also expanded protected areas, restored vital habitats, enhanced monitoring and data collection systems, and reintroduced about 10,000 wild organisms through 21 breeding and reintroduction programs, alongside implementing measures to protect birds from the dangers of high-voltage power lines. The Kingdom continues to support the CMS working group focused on combating illegal hunting in South West Asia and enhancing international cooperation in the protection of migratory species.
