أكدت وسائل إعلام إيرانية أمس (الأربعاء) إصابة رئيس المجلس الإستراتيجي للعلاقات الخارجية كمال خرازي بجروح خطيرة، فيما قتلت زوجته، جراء ضربة جوية استهدفت منزله في العاصمة الإيرانية طهران.
وأوضحت وسائل إعلام محلية أن خرازي نُقل إلى أحد المستشفيات لتلقي العلاج، وسط تضارب في المعلومات حول حالته الصحية.
ويُعد خرازي من أبرز الشخصيات المقربة من المرشد الإيراني، إذ يشغل حالياً رئاسة المجلس الإستراتيجي للعلاقات الخارجية، وهو هيئة استشارية تُعنى برسم ملامح السياسة الخارجية الإيرانية وتعمل تحت إشراف مباشر من القيادة العليا في البلاد.
ونقلت صحيفة «نيويورك تايمز» الأمريكية عن مسؤولين إيرانيين قولهم إن كمال خرازي كان يشرف على التنسيق مع باكستان تمهيداً لعقد اجتماع محتمل مع نائب الرئيس الأمريكي دي فانس، معتبرين استهداف خرازي محاولة لعرقلة الجهود الدبلوماسية.
وتولى خرازي منصب وزير الخارجية الإيراني بين 1997 و2005، كما شغل قبل ذلك منصب مندوب إيران الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة، ويعد من الوجوه الدبلوماسية المخضرمة في النظام الإيراني.
بالمقابل، قال الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، إن الولايات المتحدة ستنسحب من حرب إيران بسرعة كبيرة، وقد تعود لشن ضربات محددة إذا لزم الأمر، مبيناً أن خطابه سيتناول التعبير عن استيائه من حلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو) لما يعتبره عدم دعم من الحلف لأهداف الولايات المتحدة في إيران.
وأوضح ترمب في مقابلة مع «رويترز» أنه يفكر بجدية في محاولة سحب الولايات المتحدة من حلف الناتو، وهي معاهدة صادق عليها مجلس الشيوخ الأمريكي في 1949.
وأضاف: «لم يكونوا أصدقاء لنا عندما احتجنا إليهم، لم نطلب منهم الكثير قط، إنها علاقة أحادية الجانب».
ورفض ترمب تقديم تقديم جدول زمني للحرب، قائلاً: «لا أستطيع أن أقول لك بالضبط، سنخرج من إيران سريعاً، وبمجرد تحقيق خروج الولايات المتحدة، سنعود لتنفيذ ضربات محددة على أهداف إيرانية حسب الحاجة».
Iranian media confirmed yesterday (Wednesday) that the head of the Strategic Council for Foreign Relations, Kamal Kharrazi, was seriously injured, while his wife was killed, as a result of an airstrike that targeted his home in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
Local media clarified that Kharrazi was transferred to a hospital for treatment, amid conflicting information regarding his health condition.
Kharrazi is considered one of the prominent figures close to the Iranian leader, currently serving as the head of the Strategic Council for Foreign Relations, an advisory body concerned with shaping Iran’s foreign policy and operating under the direct supervision of the country’s supreme leadership.
The American newspaper “The New York Times” reported that Iranian officials stated that Kamal Kharrazi was overseeing coordination with Pakistan in preparation for a potential meeting with U.S. Vice President De Vance, considering the targeting of Kharrazi an attempt to obstruct diplomatic efforts.
Kharrazi served as Iran’s foreign minister from 1997 to 2005 and previously held the position of Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations, making him one of the seasoned diplomatic figures in the Iranian regime.
In contrast, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States would withdraw from the Iran war very quickly and might return to carry out targeted strikes if necessary, indicating that his speech would express his dissatisfaction with NATO for what he perceives as a lack of support from the alliance for U.S. objectives in Iran.
Trump explained in an interview with “Reuters” that he is seriously considering trying to withdraw the United States from NATO, a treaty ratified by the U.S. Senate in 1949.
He added: “They were not friends to us when we needed them, we never asked them for much, it’s a one-sided relationship.”
Trump refused to provide a timeline for the war, saying: “I can’t tell you exactly, we will get out of Iran quickly, and once the United States exits, we will return to carry out targeted strikes on Iranian targets as needed.”
