على خلفية استمرار الغارات الإسرائيلية على الجنوب اللبناني، أعلن وزير الدفاع الإسرائيلي يسرائيل كاتس، أن بلاده ستمنع انتقال «حزب الله» وأسلحته إلى جنوب نهر الليطاني.

وأفاد في تصريحات، اليوم (الأحد)، بأن الجيش الإسرائيلي تلقى تعليمات بتسريع هدم منازل اللبنانيين في قرى الخطوط الأمامية لإنهاء التهديدات التي تواجه المناطق الإسرائيلية في الشمال. ولفت إلى أن «الجيش تلقى تعليمات بالتدمير الفوري لجميع الجسور فوق نهر الليطاني المستخدمة في أنشطة إرهابية»، وفق تعبيره.

وكانت القوات الإسرائيلية استهدفت خلال الفترة الماضية جسور طيرفلسية الزرارية والقاسمية على نهر الليطاني، من أجل منع حزب الله من التحرك ونقل العتاد بين المناطق في الجنوب، وفق قولها.

وتوعّد كاتس بأن تدفع الدولة اللبنانية «ثمنا متزايدا» من الأضرار في البنى التحتية على خلفية تواصل الحرب مع حزب الله.

وطالت الحرب التي تفجرت بين إيران وإسرائيل وأمريكا، لبنان في الثاني من مارس، بعدما أطلق حزب الله صواريخ ومسيرات من الجنوب نحو شمال إسرائيل ردا على مقتل المرشد الإيراني علي خامنئي.

وردت إسرائيل بغارات كثيفة وعنيفة على ضاحية بيروت الجنوبية ومناطق في قلب العاصمة علاوة على جنوب لبنان وشرقه، وتوغلت قواتها في مناطق جديدة بالجنوب.

وأسفرت الغارات الإسرائيلية عن أكثر من 1000 شخص بينهم أطفال، وفق ما أعلنت السلطات اللبنانية. بينما سجّل أكثر من مليون أسماءهم على سجلات النازحين، يقيم أكثر من 130 ألف شخص منهم في أكثر من 600 مركز إيواء جماعي.

In light of the ongoing Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that his country will prevent the transfer of “Hezbollah” and its weapons to the south of the Litani River.

He stated in remarks today (Sunday) that the Israeli army has been instructed to expedite the demolition of Lebanese homes in the frontline villages to eliminate the threats facing Israeli areas in the north. He noted that “the army has been instructed to immediately destroy all bridges over the Litani River used for terrorist activities,” as he put it.

Israeli forces have targeted during the past period the bridges of Tyre, Al-Zahrani, and Al-Qasmiya on the Litani River, in order to prevent Hezbollah from moving and transporting equipment between areas in the south, according to their statements.

Katz threatened that the Lebanese state would pay an “increasing price” in damages to infrastructure due to the ongoing war with Hezbollah.

The war that erupted between Iran, Israel, and the United States has affected Lebanon since March 2, after Hezbollah launched rockets and drones from the south towards northern Israel in response to the killing of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei.

Israel responded with intense and violent airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut and areas in the heart of the capital, in addition to southern and eastern Lebanon, and its forces have advanced into new areas in the south.

The Israeli airstrikes have resulted in more than 1,000 casualties, including children, according to Lebanese authorities. Meanwhile, over a million people have registered as displaced, with more than 130,000 of them residing in over 600 collective shelter centers.
