استفاق سكان العاصمة الإيرانية طهران على دخان كثيف يغطي مساحات واسعة، بعد استهداف إسرائيلي أشعل الحرائق في مستودعات وقود رئيسية تخدم واحدة من أكبر مدن الشرق الأوسط. وتتحدث تقديرات عن قصف نحو 30 مستودع ووقود في إيران.

وأظهرت مقاطع فيديو نُشرت على ومواقع التواصل الاجتماعي حرائق هائلة تسيطر على أجواء غرب وجنوب وشمال المدينة.

وأفادت وسائل إعلام رسمية إيرانية أن عدداً من منشآت تخزين النفط تعرض لهجوم من طائرات معادية، ما أدى إلى احتراق كميات كبيرة من النفط والوقود حتى ساعات الليل المتأخرة، بحسب ما نقلت وكالة «بلومبيرغ».

وذكرت وكالة «فارس» للأنباء شبه الرسمية أن طائرات إسرائيلية استهدفت 3 مستودعات نفط إيرانية، السبت. وأكد وزير الطاقة الإسرائيلي إيلي كوهين وقوع الهجمات، مدعياً أن هذه المنشآت تُستخدم من قبل الجيش الإيراني. وحذر من أن مصافي النفط ومحطات الكهرباء قد تصبح أهدافاً في الأيام القادمة، في مقابلة مع إذاعة «راديو 103 إف إم» الإسرائيلية.

ووصف أحد سكان غرب طهران الأمر بأنه «مخيف جداً، ليلاً ونهاراً، أثناء الأكل والنوم.. القلق في كل مكان».

وتحدثت شبكة CNN في طهران بأن «النفط كان يتساقط مع المطر» صباح أمس (الأحد)، ونشرت مقطع فيديو من مستودع «شهران» النفطي في شمال غرب طهران يُظهر أعمدة كثيفة من الدخان تتصاعد من الموقع، بعد أن تعرض المرفق لهجوم خلال الضربات العسكرية الإسرائيلية على إيران في يونيو الماضي.

وكانت جمعية الهلال الأحمر الإيراني قد حذرت في بيان السكان من مغادرة منازلهم بسبب ارتفاع مستويات التلوث السام الناتج عن الضربات على مستودعات الوقود.

وأشارت إلى خطر الإصابة بأمراض الرئة والجلد نتيجة الأمطار الحمضية، ونصحت السكان بعدم الخروج حتى بعد توقف المطر لأن تبخره قد يؤدي أيضاً إلى مستويات عالية من السمية في الهواء.

ومنذ بداية الحرب في 28 فبراير، قُتل 1205 مدنيين في إيران، بينهم 194 طفلاً، وفقاً لما ذكرته وكالة أنباء نشطاء حقوق الإنسان «هرانا» ومقرها واشنطن، فيما تقدر إسرائيل عدد القتلى بأكثر من 3 آلاف.

The residents of the Iranian capital, Tehran, woke up to thick smoke covering vast areas, following an Israeli strike that ignited fires in key fuel depots serving one of the largest cities in the Middle East.

Videos published on social media showed massive fires engulfing the skies over the west, south, and north of the city.

Iranian state media reported that a number of oil storage facilities were attacked by hostile aircraft, resulting in large quantities of oil and fuel burning until late at night, according to Bloomberg news agency.

The semi-official Fars news agency reported that Israeli aircraft targeted three Iranian oil depots on Saturday. Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen confirmed the attacks, claiming that these facilities are used by the Iranian military. He warned that oil refineries and power stations could become targets in the coming days during an interview with Israeli Radio 103 FM.

One resident of western Tehran described the situation as “very frightening, day and night, while eating and sleeping… anxiety is everywhere.”

CNN reported from Tehran that “oil was falling like rain” yesterday morning (Sunday), and published a video from the “Shahran” oil depot in northwest Tehran showing thick columns of smoke rising from the site, after the facility was attacked during Israeli military strikes on Iran last June.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society had warned in a statement for residents to avoid leaving their homes due to high levels of toxic pollution resulting from the strikes on fuel depots.

It pointed to the risk of lung and skin diseases due to acid rain, advising residents not to go outside even after the rain stops, as its evaporation could also lead to high toxicity levels in the air.

Since the beginning of the war on February 28, 1,205 civilians have been killed in Iran, including 194 children, according to the Washington-based human rights news agency “HRANA,” while Israel estimates the death toll to be over 3,000.
