– بكل تأكيد، يجزم الكثيرون بأن الإعلامي عبدالله المديفر هو المحاور الأول؛ فقد استطاع بناء قاعدة عريضة من الشخصيات المؤثرة التي تركت بصمة وأثارت جدلاً في قضايا تهم المجتمع، واضعاً أسساً وقواعد لإدارة تلك الحوارات بمهنية واحترافية عالية. وهو غني عن المديح والإطراء، إلا أن استضافته مؤخراً للإعلامي وليد الفراج الذي يُعد محل اختلاف في الشارع الرياضي كشفت عن زاوية ورؤية مختلفة.

– نجح الفراج بشكل كبير في حفر اسمه ضمن كبار الإعلاميين الرياضيين، ليس محلياً فحسب بل عربياً أيضاً. ولم يأتِ هذا من فراغ، بل كان نتيجة جهد شاق وسنوات من «الركض الصحفي» حتى حقق هدفه. ورغم الأصوات التي طالبت المديفر بعدم استضافته، بحجة مواقفه تجاه أندية جماهيرية، مثل نادي النصر، حيث يرى البعض أنه أجحف بحق ناديهم بدافع الميول والتعصب إلا أن اللقاء فرض نفسه.

– لا تربطني علاقة شخصية بالزميل وليد الفراج، لكني عاصرت مراحل عمله الطويلة في الرياضة، والتقيت به في دورات خليجية حين كان يعمل في صحيفة «اليوم» وغيرها. كان يملك أسلوباً مختلفاً عن زملائه؛ لذا سلك طريقاً مغايراً، تماماً كبعض الزملاء الذين نجحوا في وضع بصمة إعلامية، بينما توقف آخرون في منتصف الطريق لصعوبة المسار وكثرة الضغوط والصدامات. فالميدان الرياضي صعب جداً، ومن لا يتواكب مع متغيراته وتطوراته سيجد نفسه مجبراً على مغادرة المشهد.

– لقد نجح المديفر في طرح معظم الأسئلة التي تشغل الشارع الرياضي، فرغم عدم تخصصه في الجانب الرياضي، إلا أن الإعلامي الناجح هو من يحضر جيداً ويتقصى مراحل حياة ضيفه، كان الفراج شفافاً إلى أبعد الحدود، وتحدث عن قصص جدلية، وأنصف من تركوا بصمة في الرياضة السعودية، بصفته شاهداً ومؤرخاً لفترة مهمة من حراك كرة القدم لدينا.

– الوسط الرياضي «مُتعِب»، وإن لم تطور نفسك وتتحمل الضغوط فستغادر من الباب الكبير، ومسك العصا من المنتصف مهارة، والعمل على الهواء «مكلف»، والأخطاء فيه قد تنهي المشوار، لذا من المهم الاستفادة من نصائح الآخرين والاجتهاد لتكون اسماً ورقماً صعباً مهما اختلفت الآراء حولك.

– أدرك (وليد الفراج) خبايا الإعلام، لذا لم يسرد كل تفاصيل رحلته، فليس كل ما يُعلم يُقال. اتفقنا أو اختلفنا معه، يظل الفراج من أبرز الأسماء التي شكلت الحراك الإعلامي الرياضي، وعدم تقبل البعض له أمر طبيعي في شارع رياضي «عاطفي» يميل لمصالح أنديته، بينما الصحفي المهني قد لا يكون المفضل دائماً لدى مسؤولي الأندية، قد يغضب رأيي البعض، لكنها شهادة حق من واقع معايشة لتطور الإعلام الرياضي السعودي لما يقارب 30 عاماً.

– شكراً للإعلامي القدير عبدالله المديفر على هذا اللقاء الثري، وشكراً للزميل وليد الفراج على هذا الظهور الذي يعكس نضجاً فكرياً وصل إليه بعد مشوار طويل.

لا أحد مسؤول عن حياتك، لا أحد سيراعيك أو ينقذك أو يُحدث تغييراً في وضعك، ولا أحد سيركض لمساعدتك ما لم تلمس زمام حياتك بنفسك. لقد كبرت، فلا تقبل ممارسة دور الضحية؛ لست مسؤولاً عما أصابك أو عن البيئة التي وُجدت فيها، لكنك مسؤول تماماً عن عدم تحركك.

– Certainly, many assert that the media figure Abdullah Al-Mudayfer is the foremost interviewer; he has managed to build a broad base of influential personalities who have left their mark and stirred controversy on issues that matter to society, laying down the foundations and rules for managing those dialogues with high professionalism and expertise. He is beyond praise and flattery, yet his recent hosting of the media figure Walid Al-Faraj, who is considered a point of contention in the sports community, revealed a different perspective and vision.

– Al-Faraj has significantly succeeded in carving his name among the top sports media figures, not only locally but also Arab-wide. This did not come from nowhere; it was the result of hard work and years of “journalistic running” until he achieved his goal. Despite the voices calling for Al-Mudayfer not to host him, citing his positions towards popular clubs, such as Al-Nasr Club, where some believe he has wronged their club out of bias and fanaticism, the interview imposed itself.

– I do not have a personal relationship with my colleague Walid Al-Faraj, but I have witnessed his long career in sports and met him at Gulf tournaments when he was working at the “Al-Yawm” newspaper and others. He had a different style from his colleagues; thus, he took a different path, just like some colleagues who succeeded in leaving a media mark, while others stopped midway due to the difficulty of the path and the numerous pressures and clashes. The sports field is very challenging, and those who do not keep up with its changes and developments will find themselves forced to exit the scene.

– Al-Mudayfer succeeded in raising most of the questions that occupy the sports community; despite not specializing in the sports field, a successful media figure is one who prepares well and investigates the stages of their guest’s life. Al-Faraj was transparent to the utmost extent, discussing controversial stories and giving justice to those who left a mark in Saudi sports, as he is a witness and historian of an important period in our football movement.

– The sports environment is “exhausting,” and if you do not develop yourself and withstand pressures, you will exit through the big door. Balancing is a skill, and working live is “costly,” and mistakes in it can end a career, so it is important to benefit from others’ advice and strive to be a significant name and number, regardless of differing opinions about you.

– Walid Al-Faraj understands the intricacies of media, so he did not recount all the details of his journey, as not everything that is known is said. Whether we agree or disagree with him, Al-Faraj remains one of the prominent names that shaped the sports media movement, and the inability of some to accept him is a natural thing in an “emotional” sports community that leans towards the interests of its clubs, while the professional journalist may not always be the favorite among club officials. My opinion may anger some, but it is a testimony of truth from the reality of living through the development of Saudi sports media for nearly 30 years.
