يُعد يوم التأسيس مناسبة وطنية متجذّرة في وجدان كل سعودي، فهو اليوم الذي يستحضر فيه أبناء هذا الوطن بدايات دولتهم العريقة، ويستعيدون ذكرى تأسيس الدولة السعودية الأولى على يد الإمام محمد بن سعود عام 1139هـ / 1727. لم يكن ذلك الحدث مجرد صفحة في التاريخ، بل كان نقطة انطلاق لمسيرة طويلة من الوحدة والاستقرار، ومسارًا امتد لأكثر من ثلاثة قرون حتى بلغنا ما نعيشه اليوم من نهضة شاملة وتقدم متسارع.

وقد قامت الدولة السعودية الأولى في الدرعية، فكانت نموذجًا للدولة التي تجمع بين القوة السياسية والنهضة الاجتماعية. ازدهرت فيها العلوم، وانتعشت التجارة والزراعة، وساد الأمن في أرجائها، مما جعلها مركزًا مهمًا في الجزيرة العربية. ورغم ما واجهته من تحديات، فإن جذورها لم تضعف، بل عادت لتنبض في الدولة السعودية الثانية، ثم اكتملت مسيرة البناء في الدولة السعودية الثالثة على يد الملك عبدالعزيز بن عبدالرحمن آل سعود، الذي وحّد البلاد وأعلن قيام المملكة العربية السعودية عام 1351هـ.

ويأتي يوم التأسيس في الثاني والعشرين من فبراير ليكون أكثر من مجرد تاريخ يُروى؛ إنه نافذة يطل منها السعوديون على ثلاثة قرون من المجد، وبداية حكاية وطن وُلد من إرادة صلبة وتاريخ عريق ورجال آمنوا بأن الوحدة هي السبيل إلى القوة والاستقرار. في هذا اليوم يستعيد الوطن لحظة انطلاق الدولة السعودية الأولى في الدرعية، تلك اللحظة التي غيّرت مسار الجزيرة العربية وأرست قواعد دولة راسخة الجذور.

ويحمل يوم التأسيس رمزية كبيرة تتجلى في شعاره الذي يضم رموزًا من حياة الأجداد: الخيل العربي رمز الفروسية، والنخلة رمز العطاء، والصقر رمز القوة. هذه الرموز ليست مجرد صور، بل هي قصص من تاريخ شعب عاش متحدًا، وبنى حضارته بجهده وإيمانه.

وفي هذا اليوم يحتفي السعوديون بتاريخهم، ويستعرضون قصصهم التي تعرّف الأجيال بجذور دولتهم. إنها لحظة فخر يعيشها الجميع، يتأملون فيها الماضي، ويستشرفون المستقبل بثقة واعتزاز. ويؤكد يوم التأسيس أن المملكة قامت على أسس راسخة، وأن حاضرها المشرق هو امتداد طبيعي لماضٍ عظيم صنعه الأجداد.

The Foundation Day is a deeply rooted national occasion in the hearts of every Saudi. It is the day when the sons of this nation recall the beginnings of their ancient state and remember the establishment of the first Saudi state by Imam Muhammad bin Saud in the year 1139 AH / 1727. This event was not just a page in history; it was the starting point of a long journey of unity and stability, a path that extended for more than three centuries until we reached the comprehensive renaissance and rapid progress we experience today.

The first Saudi state was established in Diriyah, serving as a model of a state that combines political strength with social renaissance. Sciences flourished, trade and agriculture thrived, and security prevailed throughout its regions, making it an important center in the Arabian Peninsula. Despite the challenges it faced, its roots did not weaken; rather, they pulsated again in the second Saudi state, and the construction journey was completed in the third Saudi state under King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, who unified the country and announced the establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the year 1351 AH.

Foundation Day, celebrated on the twenty-second of February, is more than just a date to be recounted; it is a window through which Saudis gaze upon three centuries of glory, and the beginning of a story of a nation born from strong will, rich history, and men who believed that unity is the path to strength and stability. On this day, the nation recalls the moment of the launch of the first Saudi state in Diriyah, a moment that changed the course of the Arabian Peninsula and laid the foundations of a firmly rooted state.

Foundation Day carries great symbolism, reflected in its emblem that includes symbols from the lives of the ancestors: the Arabian horse symbolizes chivalry, the palm tree symbolizes generosity, and the falcon symbolizes strength. These symbols are not just images; they are stories from the history of a people who lived united and built their civilization through their efforts and faith.

On this day, Saudis celebrate their history and showcase stories that introduce generations to the roots of their state. It is a moment of pride experienced by all, as they reflect on the past and look forward to the future with confidence and pride. Foundation Day affirms that the Kingdom was built on solid foundations, and that its bright present is a natural extension of a great past crafted by the ancestors.
