مصر تحجب «روبلوكس» لحماية الأطفال – أخبار السعودية
أعلن المجلس الأعلى لتنظيم الإعلام في مصر، أمس (الأحد)، صدور قرار رسمي بحظر وحجب منصة الألعاب الإلكترونية «روبلوكس» داخل البلاد، بالتنسيق مع الجهاز القومي لتنظيم الاتصالات، تمهيداً لتنفيذ إجراءات الحجب الفنية بشكل فوري.
تنفيذ فوري للقرار
وجاء الإعلان خلال كلمة نائب رئيس المجلس عصام الأمير، في الجلسة العامة لمجلس الشيوخ، إذ أوضح أن القرار صدر عقب تقييم المخاطر المرتبطة بالمنصة وتأثيراتها المحتملة على الأطفال والنشء، مؤكداً بدء التنسيق مع الجهات المختصة لتنفيذ الحجب على أرض الواقع.
مواجهة مخاطر المحتوى الرقمي
وأشار الأمير إلى أن القرار يأتي ضمن جهود مواجهة المخاطر المرتبطة بالإنترنت ومواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، خصوصاً ما يتعلق بتأثيراتها السلوكية والنفسية على الفئات العمرية الصغيرة، لافتاً إلى اتخاذ إجراءات مماثلة بحق منصات ومواقع أخرى اعتُبرت مخالفة للقيم المجتمعية.
توصية برلمانية
ويأتي القرار استجابة لتوصية لجنة التعليم والبحث العلمي والاتصالات بمجلس الشيوخ، بناءً على مقترح تقدمت به النائبة ولاء هرماس رضوان، طالبت فيه بتقييد عمل المنصة وتنظيم أنشطة الألعاب الإلكترونية لحماية الأطفال من المخاطر المحتملة.
منصة واسعة الانتشار
وتُعد «روبلوكس» منصة ألعاب عالمية أُطلقت عام 2006، وتضم عشرات الملايين من المستخدمين النشطين يومياً، معظمهم من الأطفال والمراهقين، وتتيح للمستخدمين إنشاء ألعاب والتفاعل مع لاعبين آخرين عبر الإنترنت.
مخاوف رقابية وأمنية
وأثارت المنصة خلال الفترة الماضية مخاوف تتعلق بضعف الرقابة على بعض المحتويات، وإمكانية التواصل غير المنضبط بين المستخدمين، إضافة إلى مخاطر الإنفاق المالي داخل الألعاب، وتقارير عن حوادث استغلال أو تحرش إلكتروني.
دول سبقت بالحظر
ولم تكن مصر أول دولة تتخذ قراراً مماثلاً، إذ سبقتها عدة دول في فرض قيود أو حظر كامل على المنصة خلال السنوات الأخيرة، في إطار مساعٍ لتنظيم استخدام الألعاب والمنصات الرقمية بين الأطفال والمراهقين.
The Supreme Council for Media Regulation in Egypt announced yesterday (Sunday) the issuance of an official decision to ban and block the electronic gaming platform “Roblox” within the country, in coordination with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, in preparation for the immediate implementation of technical blocking procedures.
Immediate Implementation of the Decision
The announcement came during a speech by the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Essam El-Amir, in the general session of the Senate, where he explained that the decision was made following an assessment of the risks associated with the platform and its potential impacts on children and youth, confirming the start of coordination with the relevant authorities to implement the blocking in practice.
Addressing Digital Content Risks
El-Amir pointed out that the decision is part of efforts to address the risks associated with the internet and social media, particularly regarding their behavioral and psychological effects on younger age groups, noting that similar measures have been taken against other platforms and websites deemed contrary to societal values.
Parliamentary Recommendation
The decision comes in response to a recommendation from the Education, Scientific Research, and Communications Committee in the Senate, based on a proposal submitted by MP Walaa Harmas Radwan, who called for restricting the platform’s operations and regulating electronic gaming activities to protect children from potential risks.
A Widely Used Platform
“Roblox” is considered a global gaming platform launched in 2006, with tens of millions of active users daily, most of whom are children and teenagers. It allows users to create games and interact with other players online.
Regulatory and Security Concerns
The platform has raised concerns in recent times regarding weak oversight of some content, the possibility of uncontrolled communication between users, as well as risks of financial spending within games, and reports of incidents of exploitation or cyber harassment.
Countries That Preceded with the Ban
Egypt is not the first country to make a similar decision, as several countries have preceded it in imposing restrictions or a complete ban on the platform in recent years, as part of efforts to regulate the use of games and digital platforms among children and teenagers.
