أقر وزراء خارجية دول الاتحاد الأوروبي في بروكسل، فرض عقوبات على 17 مسؤولاً إيرانياً بينهم وزير الداخلية اسكاندر مؤمني، والمدعي العام محمد موحدي آزاد.

العقوبات تطال 6 كيانات

وفرض وزراء الاتحاد، اليوم (الخميس)، العقوبات على 15 مسؤولاً آخرين و6 كيانات، بينهم سيد مجيد فيض جعفري، قائد في الحرس الثوري، وإيمان أفسحري رئيس المحكمة الثورية، وعلي عبد اللهي، قائد أركان قوات خاتم الأنبياء، بحسب ما أظهرت لائحة نشرت في الجريدة الرسمية للتكتل.

وشملت العقوبات تجميد أصول وحظر تأشيرات السفر على المسؤولين المذكورين.

وكانت مسؤولة السياسة الخارجية بالاتحاد، كايا كالاس، توقعت فرض عقوبات إضافية على مرتكبي العنف ضد المتظاهرين بإيران، وإدراج الحرس الثوري الإيراني على قائمة المنظمات الإرهابية.

تحول رمزي في نهج أوروبا

ومن المتوقع أن يتوصل الوزراء الأوروبيون إلى اتفاق سياسي لإدراج الحرس الثوري على قائمة الاتحاد للتنظيمات الإرهابية، ما يضعه في الخانة ذاتها مع تنظيم داعش والقاعدة، ويمثل تحولاً رمزياً في نهج أوروبا تجاه القيادة الإيرانية.

وأعلنت دول أوروبية عدة في الأيام الماضية تأييدها لإدراج الحرس في «لائحة الاتحاد الأوروبي للمنظمات الإرهابية»، أبرزها فرنسا وإيطاليا.

وتأتي هذه الخطوات فيما تتهم منظمات حقوقية الحرس الثوري بالوقوف وراء حملة قمع الاحتجاجات الأخيرة التي أسفرت عن مقتل الآلاف.

يذكر أن إيران شهدت منذ 28 ديسمبر الماضي، تظاهرات واسعة انطلقت من بازار طهران في العاصمة، قبل أن تتوسع إلى مناطق عدة، وتتحول من مطالب اقتصادية معيشية، إلى مطالبات سياسية.

واتهمت السلطات الإيرانية إسرائيل وأمريكا بالتدخل ومحاولة زعزعة الاستقرار. كما اتهمت «عناصر إرهابية» بالتغلغل بين المتظاهرين وإطلاق الرصاص بغية رفع أعداد القتلى.

الامتناع عن استخدام القوة

من جهة أخرى، أفادت الرئاسة الروسية بأن إمكانية إجراء مفاوضات مثمرة حول الملف الإيراني «لم تُستنفد بعد»، عقب تحذير الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب طهران من أن «الوقت ينفد» لتفادي ضربة عسكرية.

ودعا المتحدث باسم الكرملين دميتري بيسكوف خلال مؤتمر صحفي، اليوم (الخميس)، جميع الأطراف إلى ضبط النفس والامتناع عن استخدام القوة لحل هذا الخلاف. وأكد أن أي استخدام للقوة لن يؤدي سوى إلى إثارة الفوضى في المنطقة وستكون له عواقب خطيرة للغاية.

وكان قائد الجيش الإيراني أمير حاتمي، أمر بتعزيز القوات المسلحة بـ1,000 طائرة مسيرة استراتيجية، وسط التوتر غير المسبوق بين إيران والولايات المتحدة. وقال حاتمي بعد إصدار أوامر دمج الطائرات المسيّرة البرية والبحرية: «في ظل التهديدات المستقبلية، يبقى الحفاظ على المزايا الاستراتيجية وتعزيزها من أجل القتال السريع والرد الساحق على أي غزو أو معتدٍ على رأس أولويات الجيش»، وفق ما أفادت وكالة تسنيم.

EU foreign ministers in Brussels approved sanctions against 17 Iranian officials, including Interior Minister Iskander Moameni and Attorney General Mohammad Mohammadi Azad.

The sanctions target 6 entities

The ministers imposed sanctions today (Thursday) on 15 other officials and 6 entities, including Seyed Majid Faiz Jafari, a commander in the Revolutionary Guard, Eman Afshari, head of the Revolutionary Court, and Ali Abdollahi, chief of staff of the Quds Force, according to a list published in the official journal of the bloc.

The sanctions included asset freezes and travel bans on the mentioned officials.

EU foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, had anticipated additional sanctions against those committing violence against protesters in Iran and the inclusion of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard on the list of terrorist organizations.

A symbolic shift in Europe’s approach

European ministers are expected to reach a political agreement to include the Revolutionary Guard on the EU’s list of terrorist organizations, placing it in the same category as ISIS and Al-Qaeda, representing a symbolic shift in Europe’s approach towards the Iranian leadership.

Several European countries have recently announced their support for including the Guard in the “EU list of terrorist organizations,” notably France and Italy.

These steps come as human rights organizations accuse the Revolutionary Guard of being behind the crackdown on recent protests that resulted in thousands of deaths.

It is worth noting that Iran has witnessed widespread protests since December 28, which began in the Tehran bazaar before expanding to several areas, shifting from economic demands to political ones.

The Iranian authorities have accused Israel and the U.S. of intervening and attempting to destabilize the country. They also accused “terrorist elements” of infiltrating among the protesters and firing shots to increase the death toll.

Refraining from using force

On another note, the Russian presidency reported that the possibility of fruitful negotiations regarding the Iranian file “has not yet been exhausted,” following U.S. President Donald Trump’s warning to Tehran that “time is running out” to avoid a military strike.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called on all parties during a press conference today (Thursday) to exercise restraint and refrain from using force to resolve this dispute. He emphasized that any use of force would only lead to chaos in the region and would have extremely serious consequences.

The commander of the Iranian army, Amir Hatami, ordered the enhancement of the armed forces with 1,000 strategic drones amid unprecedented tensions between Iran and the United States. Hatami stated after issuing orders to integrate land and naval drones: “In light of future threats, maintaining and enhancing strategic advantages for rapid combat and overwhelming response to any invasion or aggressor remains a top priority for the army,” according to the Tasnim news agency.
