كشفت السلطات الأمريكية تفاصيل واحدة من أخطر عمليات الاحتيال في قطاع الطيران، بطلها مضيف طيران سابق تمكّن من انتحال صفة طيار وموظف طيران محترف، والتحليق مجانًا على متن مئات الرحلات لمدة أربع سنوات كاملة دون أن يُكتشف أمره.

وبحسب وثائق قضائية وتقارير نشرتها وسائل إعلام دولية، فقد أُلقي القبض على الكندي دالاس بوكورنيك (33 عامًا) في بنما، قبل تسليمه إلى الولايات المتحدة، حيث وُجّهت إليه تهمة الاحتيال عبر وسائل الاتصال أمام محكمة اتحادية في ولاية هاواي. ومثل المتهم أمام القضاء ودفع ببراءته، فيما امتنع محاميه عن التعليق.

وتبين بعد التحقيقات أن بوكورنيك عمل مضيف طيران لدى شركة كندية خلال الفترة بين عامي 2017 و2019، قبل أن يستغل خبرته السابقة ليبدأ واحدة من أكثر عمليات الخداع جرأة في عالم الطيران. إذ استخدم بطاقات تعريف وظيفية مزورة منسوبة إلى جهة عمله السابقة، مكّنته من حجز تذاكر مخصصة حصريًا للطيارين وأطقم الطيران.

ووفق لائحة الاتهام، نجح المتهم في الحصول بهذه الطريقة على مئات التذاكر المجانية من ثلاث شركات طيران أمريكية كبرى، متنقلًا بين الرحلات والولايات دون إثارة أي شبهات، في اختراق لافت لأنظمة التحقق المعتمدة داخل شركات الطيران.

ورغم أن الجهات القضائية لم تكشف أسماء الشركات المتضررة، فإنها أوضحت أن مقراتها الرئيسية تقع في هونولولو وشيكاغو وفورت وورث بولاية تكساس. وفي هذا السياق، لم يصدر تعليق فوري من شركتي «يونايتد إيرلاينز» و«أمريكان إيرلاينز»، فيما قالت «بورتر إيرلاينز» إنها غير قادرة على التحقق من أي معلومات تتعلق بالقضية، بينما أكدت «إير كندا» عدم وجود أي سجل يوثق عمل بوكورنيك لديها.

القضية التي وُصفت بأنها غير مسبوقة، أثارت تساؤلات واسعة حول الثغرات الأمنية في أنظمة الطيران، وكيف تمكن شخص واحد من التحايل على شركات كبرى والتحليق مجانًا لسنوات، قبل أن تنتهي رحلته أخيرًا أمام القضاء الأمريكي.

The U.S. authorities revealed details of one of the most dangerous fraud operations in the aviation sector, led by a former flight attendant who managed to impersonate a pilot and a professional flight employee, flying for free on hundreds of flights for a full four years without being discovered.

According to court documents and reports published by international media, Canadian Dallas Pokornik (33 years old) was arrested in Panama before being extradited to the United States, where he was charged with fraud via communication methods before a federal court in Hawaii. The defendant appeared before the court and pleaded not guilty, while his lawyer declined to comment.

Investigations revealed that Pokornik worked as a flight attendant for a Canadian company between 2017 and 2019, before exploiting his previous experience to begin one of the boldest deception operations in the aviation world. He used forged employee identification cards attributed to his former employer, which allowed him to book tickets exclusively reserved for pilots and flight crews.

According to the indictment, the defendant successfully obtained hundreds of free tickets in this manner from three major U.S. airlines, moving between flights and states without raising any suspicions, in a remarkable breach of the verification systems adopted within the airlines.

Although the judicial authorities did not disclose the names of the affected companies, they clarified that their headquarters are located in Honolulu, Chicago, and Fort Worth, Texas. In this context, there was no immediate comment from United Airlines and American Airlines, while Porter Airlines stated that it was unable to verify any information related to the case, and Air Canada confirmed that there is no record documenting Pokornik’s employment with them.

The case, described as unprecedented, raised widespread questions about security gaps in aviation systems and how a single individual managed to deceive major companies and fly for free for years, before his journey finally ended in front of the U.S. judiciary.
