تحذيرات من أزمة غذاء.. هل تحمي الأمم المتحدة التجارة في «هرمز» ؟ – أخبار السعودية
أعلنت الأمم المتحدة أنها بصدد تشكيل فريق عمل لوضع آلية تضمن استمرار تدفق التجارة عبر مضيق هرمز، محذرةً من أن الاضطرابات الناجمة عن حرب إيران تُنذر بتفاقم نقص الغذاء والأزمات الإنسانية في جميع أنحاء العالم.
تحرك فوري
وقال المتحدث باسم الأمم المتحدة ستيفان دوجاريك: «التحرك الفوري ضروري للتخفيف من هذه العواقب». وأضاف أن المدير التنفيذي لمكتب الأمم المتحدة لخدمات المشاريع خورخي موريرا دا سيلفا سيقود المشروع.
وأشار إلى أن فريق العمل المزمع تشكيله سيستلهم أفكاره من مبادرات الأمم المتحدة الأخرى، بما في ذلك مبادرة حبوب البحر الأسود لأوكرانيا، وآلية الأمم المتحدة 2720 لغزة.
انتكاسة طويلة
وبين دوجاريك بقوله: «سيتواصل فريق العمل الآن مع جميع الدول الأعضاء المعنية لبحث كيفية تفعيل هذا المشروع، ونأمل أن تقدم جميع الدول الأعضاء المشاركة الدعم لهذا المشروع، لاسيما من أجل الناس الذين لحق بهم الضرر بالفعل».
ويحذر خبراء من الأمم المتحدة وخبراء آخرون من أن تعطل شحنات الأسمدة وارتفاع أسعار الطاقة يهددان بارتفاعات جديدة في أسعار المواد الغذائية في الدول الهشة، ما قد يؤدي إلى انتكاسة طويلة الأمد في وقت بدأت فيه كثير من الدول التعافي من صدمات عالمية متتالية.
The United Nations has announced that it is in the process of forming a working group to establish a mechanism that ensures the continued flow of trade through the Strait of Hormuz, warning that the disruptions caused by the war in Iran threaten to exacerbate food shortages and humanitarian crises worldwide.
Immediate Action
UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said, “Immediate action is necessary to mitigate these consequences.” He added that the Executive Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services, Jorge Moreira da Silva, will lead the project.
He noted that the working group to be formed will draw inspiration from other UN initiatives, including the Black Sea Grain Initiative for Ukraine and the UN 2720 mechanism for Gaza.
Long-term Setback
Dujarric stated, “The working group will now engage with all concerned member states to discuss how to activate this project, and we hope that all participating member states will support this initiative, especially for the people who have already been harmed.”
Experts from the UN and other specialists warn that disruptions in fertilizer shipments and rising energy prices threaten new increases in food prices in vulnerable countries, which could lead to a long-term setback at a time when many nations are beginning to recover from successive global shocks.
