رداً على «رسوم ترمب».. الصين تحقق في ممارسات تجارية لأمريكا – أخبار السعودية
فتحت الصين تحقيقين بشأن الممارسات التجارية الأمريكية، في إشارة إلى تصميمها على التصدي للرسوم الجمركية التي يفرضها الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب قبل زيارته للبلاد في شهر مايو القادم.
وذكرت وزارة التجارة الصينية أن التحقيقين الجديدين أتيا في رد فعل على إعلان ترمب فتح تحقيقين في وقت سابق من الشهر الجاري ضد عدة دول، من بينها الصين.
حماية مصالح
وقال بيان الوزارة: «إن التحقيقين الصينيين تم إطلاقهما لحماية مصالح الصناعات الصينية ذات الصلة».
وأعرب البيان عن معارضة شديدة للتحقيقين الأمريكيين.
وسيبحث أحد التحقيقين بشأن السياسات الأمريكية التي تقيد دخول البضائع الصينية إلى الولايات المتحدة، والسياسات التي تضع حدا أقصى للصادرات الأمريكية من منتجات التكنولوجيا المتقدمة للصين. ويركز الآخر على حدود صادرات الصين من الطاقة النظيفة.
ورقة تفاوض
وأوضحت الوزارة أن التحقيقين من المتوقع أن يستغرقا ستة أشهر وقد يتم تمديدهما ثلاثة أشهر إضافية إذا تطلب الأمر.
وتعد التحقيقات الصينية أحدث جولة في حرب تجارية طويلة الأمد وقد يتم استخدامها كورقة تفاوض لمواجهة أي رسوم جمركية أمريكية جديدة محتملة.
وكانت المحكمة العليا الأمريكية ألغت بعض الرسوم الجمركية التي فرضها ترمب، ورد الرئيس بإطلاق ما يعرف بالتحقيقات التجارية في إطار «المادة 301» كرد فعل.
China has opened two investigations into U.S. trade practices, signaling its determination to counter the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump ahead of his visit to the country next May.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that the new investigations were a reaction to Trump’s announcement of opening two investigations earlier this month against several countries, including China.
Protecting Interests
The ministry’s statement said: “The Chinese investigations have been launched to protect the interests of relevant Chinese industries.”
It expressed strong opposition to the U.S. investigations.
One of the investigations will examine U.S. policies that restrict the entry of Chinese goods into the United States and policies that impose a cap on U.S. exports of advanced technology products to China. The other focuses on limits on China’s clean energy exports.
Negotiation Leverage
The ministry clarified that the investigations are expected to take six months and may be extended for an additional three months if necessary.
The Chinese investigations represent the latest round in a long-standing trade war and may be used as leverage in negotiations to counter any potential new U.S. tariffs.
The U.S. Supreme Court had overturned some of the tariffs imposed by Trump, and the president responded by launching what is known as trade investigations under “Section 301” as a reaction.
