وفي الشوط الثاني فرض برشلونة سيطرته على مجريات المباراة وتمكن من تسجيل الهدف الرابع عن طريق فيرمين لوبيز (د: 51)، ومن ثم أحرز روبرت ليفاندوفسكي الهدفين الخامس والسادس على التوالي (د: 56، 61)، ومثلما افتتح مسلسل الأهداف عاد البرازيلي رافينيا ليختتم المهرجان التهديفي بإحرازه الهدف الشخصي الثاني والسابع لفريقه (د: 72)، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز برشلونة 7/2 (مجموع اللقاءين 8/3).

وبهذه النتيجة يتأهل برشلونة للدور ربع النهائي لدوري أبطال أوروبا فيما غادر نيوكاسل يونايتد منافسات البطولة.
