ظلّت السعودية محافظةً على ميثاق صلحها مع إيران، الذي تم بوساطة ورعاية صينية. وأتاح ذلك التوافق حلحلة عدد من مشكلات المنطقة، خصوصاً محاولة دفع الحوثيين للقبول باتفاقات تبادل السجناء، وخفض التصعيد والتهدئة في اليمن. وعلى النقيض من ذلك العهد؛ حاولت إيران الاستمرار في زعزعة استقرار المنطقة بالإيعاز لـ«حزب الله» بخرق قرار الدولة اللبنانية والخروج على مبدأ حصرية خيار الحرب والسلم بيد الدولة وعرقلة جمع السلاح. وأوعزت طهران لجماعة «الحوثي» بضرب الملاحة التجارية في البحر الأحمر. وكلها خيارات خاطئة انتهت بتدمير قدرات حزب الله، وتصفية قيادته بدءاً من أمينه العام السابق حسن نصر الله، وضرب صواريخ الحوثي، وقياداته الأمنية والعسكرية.

وهكذا استيقظت إيران لتكتشف أنها فقدت أهم الأوراق بيدها. وهي ورقة النفوذ الإقليمي.

وكان مثيراً للاستغراب والدهشة أن تعمد إيران، في أتون مواجهتها مع الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل، إلى ضرب دول خليجية عربية (جارة) مسالمة، والاعتداء السافر على السفارات الأجنبية والمطارات والمواقع الحيوية المدنية، رغم أن كثيراً من هذه الدول لها معها علاقات متجذّرة وتاريخية، مثل سلطنة عُمان. كما أطلقت صواريخها على السعودية، التي كانت أول من سعى إلى حض الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب على التخلي عن خيار الحرب، والبحث عن خيار يحسم الخلافات من خلال التفاوض والدبلوماسية.

ويبدو أن استهداف السفارات الأمريكية في دول الخليج سيكون بمثابة «القشة التي قصمت ظهر البعير»، خصوصاً أن الرئيس الأمريكي هدّد طهران بأن الرد سيكون قريباً، وأنها ستدفع ثمناً باهظاً مقابل ذلك.

ومع توالي الضربات الموجعة، بدت الجمهورية الإسلامية التي قالت منذ اليوم الأول لتأسيسها أنها لن تتفاوض أبداً مع «الشيطان الأكبر»، تستجدي الحوار مع الولايات المتحدة، خصوصاً وأن لها تاريخاً يمتد أكثر 40 عاماً من المحادثات خلف الكواليس وأحياناً أمام الستار.

وكلما حاولت إيران تأكيد أحقيتها بزعزعة المنطقة والعالم، واستفزاز الدول الإقليمية والعالمية، انتهى الأمر بضربات تقصم ظهرها من القوى الغربية، التي تقودها الولايات المتحدة. وقاد عنادُها، وتشبّثُها بحلم «القنبلة» إلى استهدافها مراراً وتكراراً، حتى اخترقتها المخابرات الإسرائيلية، وأضحت أسرارها مكشوفة، وقادتها المختبئون في طهران أصبحوا هدفاً سهلاً مكشوفاً وكان آخرهم اصطياد المرشد الإيراني الأعلى علي خامنئي، ووزير الدفاع الجديد، وقيادات أمنية كثيرة. وكانت حرب الـ 12 يوماً في يونيو 2025 أكبر كارثة تحيق بالشعب الإيراني بسبب أخطاء قادته. ويبدو أن الأخطاء السياسية والأمنية والعسكرية في إيران تُرتكب هناك من دون رَوِيَّة أو تريُّث، ولا تُحْسَبُ أبعادُها السالبة حساباً دقيقاً. وآخرها اتخاذ قرار توجيه الصواريخ والمقذوفات صوب الدول الخليجية والعربية، وفي مقدمتها السعودية. أي معاقبة دول مسالمة جارة على حرب تواجهها، نتيجة سياساتها وأفعالها وممارساتها الخاطئة؛ بل إن المملكة حرصت على إبلاغ طهران بأنها لن تسمح لأية قوة في العالم باستخدام أراضيها قاعدة لضرب إيران. لكن الذين في نفوسهم غرض، وحقد، وحسد يرون بمنتهى البساطة أن ضرب السعودية ودول الخليج العربية هو أفضل حل! ومن يفكر بهذه الطريقة بحاجة إلى «كونسلتو» أطباء نفسانيين لمعالجته، واستخراج تلك «الأحقاد» من قلبه لتعود إليه إنسانيته وعقله السليم.

الأكيد أن المملكة تصون العهد ولا تتسرع في اتخاذ المواقف. لكن تصرف النظام الإيراني «الأرعن» جاء تنبيهاً بأعلى صوت لمخاطر التعامل مع إيران، ولاحتمالات لجوئها إلى صواريخها الباليستية بعد فترة قصيرة من زيارة وزيرها عباس عراقجي للرياض، بحثاً عن سبل لتجنيب بلاده الكارثة التي سعت إليها بنفسها. وقد صدق البيان السعودي الرسمي الصادر السبت (28 فبراير 2026) حين وصف الهجوم الإيراني على منطقتَي الرياض والشرقية بأنه «هجوم سافر وجبان»، وتأكيد المملكة، أن تكرار هذا الهجوم الجبان وغير المبرر يتعارض وبشكل صارخ مع جميع الأعراف والقوانين الدولية بما فيها اتفاقيتا جنيف 1949 وفيينا 1961 التي تمنح الحصانة للمباني الدبلوماسية وموظفيها حتى في حالات النزاع المسلح، فمن يبعث إليك بوزرائه ومسؤوليه ثم يغدر بك موجّهاً صواريخه على بلادك وقاطنيها لا يستحق أكثر من أن يوصف بأنه «جبان» و«مجنون».. والمنطقة لم تعد تحتمل «المجانين»!

وإيران ما قبل 28 فبراير لن تكون إيران ما بعد!

Saudi Arabia has maintained its peace agreement with Iran, which was mediated and sponsored by China. This alignment has allowed for the resolution of several regional issues, particularly the attempt to persuade the Houthis to accept prisoner exchange agreements, de-escalation, and a ceasefire in Yemen. In contrast to that agreement, Iran has tried to continue destabilizing the region by instructing Hezbollah to violate the Lebanese state’s decision and to undermine the principle that the choice of war and peace rests solely with the state, as well as to obstruct disarmament efforts. Tehran has also directed the Houthi group to target commercial shipping in the Red Sea. All of these are misguided choices that have ended with the destruction of Hezbollah’s capabilities and the elimination of its leadership, starting with its former Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, as well as strikes on Houthi missiles and their security and military leaders.

Thus, Iran woke up to discover that it had lost its most important cards. That is the card of regional influence.

It was astonishing and surprising that Iran, in the midst of its confrontation with the United States and Israel, would target peaceful Arab Gulf states (neighbors) and brazenly attack foreign embassies, airports, and vital civilian sites, despite the fact that many of these countries have deep-rooted and historical relations with it, such as the Sultanate of Oman. It also launched missiles at Saudi Arabia, which was the first to urge U.S. President Donald Trump to abandon the option of war and seek a solution to resolve disputes through negotiation and diplomacy.

It seems that targeting American embassies in the Gulf states will be the “last straw,” especially since the U.S. President threatened Tehran that the response would be imminent and that it would pay a heavy price for that.

With the continued painful strikes, the Islamic Republic, which stated from the first day of its establishment that it would never negotiate with the “Great Satan,” is now begging for dialogue with the United States, especially since it has a history of over 40 years of talks behind the scenes and sometimes in front of the curtain.

Every time Iran tries to assert its right to destabilize the region and the world and provoke regional and global countries, it ends up facing retaliatory strikes from Western powers led by the United States. Its stubbornness and clinging to the dream of a “bomb” have led to it being targeted repeatedly, until it was penetrated by Israeli intelligence, and its secrets became exposed, making its leaders hiding in Tehran easy targets. The most recent of these was the targeting of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the new Minister of Defense, and many security leaders. The 12-day war in June 2025 was the greatest disaster to befall the Iranian people due to the mistakes of their leaders. It seems that political, security, and military mistakes in Iran are made there without deliberation or caution, and their negative implications are not accurately accounted for. The latest of these was the decision to direct missiles and projectiles towards Gulf and Arab states, primarily Saudi Arabia. This is a punishment of peaceful neighboring countries for a war they are facing due to their own policies and wrong actions; in fact, the Kingdom has been keen to inform Tehran that it will not allow any force in the world to use its territory as a base to strike Iran. However, those with malice, hatred, and envy see it very simply that striking Saudi Arabia and the Arab Gulf states is the best solution! Anyone thinking this way needs a “consultation” with psychologists to treat him and extract those “hatreds” from his heart so that he can regain his humanity and sound mind.

It is certain that the Kingdom honors its commitments and does not rush to take positions. However, the actions of the “reckless” Iranian regime serve as a loud warning about the dangers of dealing with Iran and the possibilities of its resorting to its ballistic missiles shortly after its minister Abbas Araghchi’s visit to Riyadh, seeking ways to spare his country the disaster it has sought itself. The official Saudi statement issued on Saturday (February 28, 2026) accurately described the Iranian attack on the Riyadh and Eastern regions as a “brazen and cowardly attack,” confirming that the repetition of this cowardly and unjustified attack blatantly contradicts all international norms and laws, including the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the Vienna Convention of 1961, which grant immunity to diplomatic buildings and their staff even in cases of armed conflict. Anyone who sends their ministers and officials to you and then betrays you by directing missiles at your country and its inhabitants deserves nothing more than to be described as “cowardly” and “mad”… and the region can no longer tolerate “madmen”!

Iran before February 28 will not be the same as Iran after!
