شهد الرئيس الصومالي حسن شيخ محمود، خلال زيارته القاهرة، مراسم اصطفاف القوات المصرية المشاركة ضمن بعثة الاتحاد الأفريقي لدعم الأمن والاستقرار في الصومال.

وتعكس المشاركة العسكرية المصرية الالتزام بدعم وحدة الصومال وسلامة أراضيه، ومساندة جهوده في بسط سيطرته الوطنية ومكافحة الإرهاب، في إطار الدور المصري الداعم لركائز الأمن والسلم الدوليين في القارة الأفريقية.

تضمنت المراسم، التي حضرها رئيس الأركان المصري الفريق أحمد خليفة، عرضاً تقديمياً عن إجراءات الإعداد والتجهيز للقوات المشاركة، الذي أبرز مدى الجاهزية والاستعداد القتالي لكافة الأسلحة والتخصصات.

من جانبه، أعلن المتحدث العسكري المصري بأن مشاركة القوات المصرية تأتي تأكيداً لموقف مصر التاريخي الذي يعكس الحرص على المشاركة الفاعلة لدعم ركائز الأمن والسلم الدوليين.

واستقبل الرئيس عبدالفتاح السيسي، قبل أيام نظيره الصومالي الدكتور حسن شيخ محمود. وشهدت المباحثات بحث سبل تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية بين مصر والصومال، وتبادل الرؤى حول مستجدات القضايا الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك.

جاءت زيارة الرئيس الصومالي بعد أسابيع من اعتراف إسرائيل بـ«أرض الصومال»، وهو الأمر الذي رفضته مصر ودول عدة أخرى، بينها السعودية وتركيا. وأكدت هذه الدول رفضها التام لهذه الخطوة، لما تمثله من انتهاك لوحدة وسيادة الأراضي الصومالية وتهديد للاستقرار في منطقة القرن الأفريقي.

وشددت مصر على الدعم الكامل لوحدة وسيادة وسلامة الأراضي الصومالية، ورفضت أية إجراءات أحادية من شأنها المساس بالسيادة الصومالية أو تقويض أسس الاستقرار في البلاد.

وأكدت مصر دعم مؤسسات الدولة الصومالية الشرعية، ورفضت أية محاولات لفرض كيانات موازية تتعارض مع وحدة الدولة الصومالية.

يذكر أن مصر والصومال وقعتا بروتوكولاً للتعاون العسكري في أغسطس من العام 2024؛ بهدف دعم قدرات الكوادر الصومالية، وتعزيز دور المؤسسات الوطنية في حفظ الأمن والاستقرار، ومكافحة التنظيمات الإرهابية والمتطرفة، وتمكين الدولة الصومالية من بسط سيادتها وسيطرتها على كامل التراب الوطني.

وفي 20 يوليو من العام قبل الماضي، وافق مجلس الوزراء الصومالي على اتفاقية الدفاع المشترك مع مصر. مثّل هذا الاتفاق تحولاً نوعياً في العلاقات الثنائية، إذ نص على تعزيز التنسيق الأمني والتدريب العسكري وتبادل الخبرات، فضلاً عن تقديم الدعم الفني للقوات الصومالية.

The Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud witnessed, during his visit to Cairo, the ceremony of the alignment of the Egyptian forces participating in the African Union mission to support security and stability in Somalia.

The Egyptian military participation reflects the commitment to support the unity of Somalia and the integrity of its territory, and to assist its efforts in establishing national control and combating terrorism, within the framework of Egypt’s supportive role for the pillars of international peace and security on the African continent.

The ceremony, attended by the Egyptian Chief of Staff General Ahmed Khalifa, included a presentation on the preparation and readiness procedures for the participating forces, highlighting the level of readiness and combat preparedness of all arms and specialties.

For his part, the Egyptian military spokesperson announced that the participation of the Egyptian forces comes as a confirmation of Egypt’s historical position, which reflects a commitment to actively participate in supporting the pillars of international peace and security.

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi received his Somali counterpart Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud a few days ago. The discussions focused on ways to enhance bilateral relations between Egypt and Somalia, and exchanged views on developments in regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The Somali President’s visit came weeks after Israel recognized “Somaliland,” a move that Egypt and several other countries, including Saudi Arabia and Turkey, rejected. These countries affirmed their complete rejection of this step, as it represents a violation of the unity and sovereignty of Somali territory and a threat to stability in the Horn of Africa.

Egypt emphasized its full support for the unity, sovereignty, and integrity of Somali territory, and rejected any unilateral actions that could undermine Somali sovereignty or undermine the foundations of stability in the country.

Egypt confirmed its support for the legitimate Somali state institutions and rejected any attempts to impose parallel entities that contradict the unity of the Somali state.

It is worth noting that Egypt and Somalia signed a military cooperation protocol in August 2024, aimed at supporting the capabilities of Somali personnel, enhancing the role of national institutions in maintaining security and stability, combating terrorist and extremist organizations, and enabling the Somali state to assert its sovereignty and control over its entire national territory.

On July 20 of the year before last, the Somali Cabinet approved a mutual defense agreement with Egypt. This agreement represented a qualitative shift in bilateral relations, as it stipulated enhancing security coordination, military training, and exchanging expertise, in addition to providing technical support to the Somali forces.
