طالب عدد من قائدي المركبات في محافظة خميس مشيط الجهات المختصة بالتدخل العاجل، بعد تسجيل مخالفات مرورية على مركباتهم بسبب الوقوف على ممر مشاة غير واضح المعالم في شارع فرعي مجاور لمكتب البريد، مؤكدين أن طلاء الممر باهت وغير ظاهر للسائقين، ما تسبب في وقوعهم ضحية لمخالفات غير عادلة.

وقال عبدالله الشهراني: إنه فوجئ بأحد موظفي تسجيل المخالفات يقوم بتصوير لوحة مركبته، وعند سؤاله عن السبب أفاد بأن الوقوف كان على ممر مشاة. وأضاف الشهراني، أنه أوضح للموظف أن الممر غير واضح إطلاقاً ويُفترض إعادة طلائه ليكون مرئياً للجميع، إلا أن الموظف أكد أن ذلك «ليس من اختصاصه»، قبل أن تصله في اليوم التالي غرامة بقيمة 300 ريال.

أما خالد القحطاني فأكد أنه، كغيره من السائقين، يطالب الجهة المختصة بإعادة طلاء خطوط الممر بشكل واضح، خصوصاً أن كثيراً من قائدي المركبات يقفون في بداية الشارع الفرعي دون إدراك لوجود ممر مشاة باهت لا يكاد يُرى. وأشار إلى أنه تم إبلاغ أحد موظفي تسجيل المخالفات بالمشكلة، إلا أن الوضع ما زال كما هو. من جانبه، دعا مبارك الشهراني، إلى شطب المخالفات المسجلة على هذا الممر غير الواضح، وإعادة طلائه بوضوح أمام الجميع، ثم تطبيق العقوبات على أي مخالف بعد ذلك.

A number of vehicle drivers in the city of Khamis Mushait have called on the relevant authorities to intervene urgently, after traffic violations were recorded against their vehicles for parking on an unclear pedestrian crossing in a side street adjacent to the post office. They emphasized that the paint on the crossing is faded and not visible to drivers, which has caused them to fall victim to unfair violations.

Abdullah Al-Shahrani stated that he was surprised when one of the traffic violation officers took a picture of his vehicle’s license plate, and when he asked the reason, the officer informed him that the parking was on a pedestrian crossing. Al-Shahrani added that he explained to the officer that the crossing is not clear at all and should be repainted to be visible to everyone, but the officer insisted that it was “not his responsibility,” before he received a fine of 300 riyals the next day.

Meanwhile, Khalid Al-Qahtani confirmed that, like other drivers, he is demanding that the relevant authority repaint the crossing lines clearly, especially since many vehicle drivers park at the beginning of the side street without realizing there is a faded pedestrian crossing that is barely visible. He pointed out that he informed one of the traffic violation officers about the problem, but the situation remains the same. For his part, Mubarak Al-Shahrani called for the cancellation of the violations recorded on this unclear crossing and for it to be repainted clearly for everyone, and then to apply penalties to any violators thereafter.
