يخوض منتخب إيطاليا اختباراً صعباً عندما يواجه مضيفه البوسة والهرسك عند تمام الساعة 9:45 من مساء اليوم (الثلاثاء) على ملعب بيلينو بولي بمدينة زينيتسا وذلك في نهائي المسار الأول من الملحق الأوروبي المؤهل إلى كأس العالم 2026.

ويسعى المنتخب الإيطالي، الفائز باللقب أربع مرات، إلى تجنب خيبة أخرى وإنهاء غياب دام 12 عاما عن أكبر مسرح كروي عالمي، ويطمح المدرب جينارو غاتوزو المتوج بكأس العالم ألمانيا 2006 كلاعب مع منتخب بلاده، قيادة إيطاليا للعودة إلى البطولة بعد الغياب عن نسختي روسيا 2018 وقطر 2022.

وقد بلغ منتخب إيطاليا هذا اللقاء بعدما تفوق على منتخب أيرلندا الشمالية بنتيجة 2-0، ليضرب موعدًا مع البوسنة في مواجهة فاصلة على إحدى بطاقات التأهل، لكن هذه المواجهة لن تكون سهلة في أجواء جماهيرية صعبة.

فيما تمكن منتخب البوسنة والهرسك من انتزاع بطاقة التأهل إلى النهائي عقب فوز درامي على منتخب ويلز بركلات الترجيح بنتيجة 4-2، بعد انتهاء الوقتين الأصلي والإضافي بالتعادل 1-1.

ويقود البوسنة المهاجم المخضرم إيدين دجيكو البالغ 40 عاما والذي سجّل هدف التعادل المتأخر في مرمى ويلز، وسبق لدجيكو أن لعب نحو عقد من الزمن في الدوري الإيطالي مع روما وإنتر وفيورنتينا، وبالتالي سيعول على خبرته الإيطالية لقيادة بلاده إلى النهائيات للمرة الثانية في تاريخه الشخصي وتاريخ دولته بعد المشاركة في نسخة البرازيل 2014.
