توعد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بـ«محو» جزيرة خارك ذات الأهمية الإستراتيجية الكبرى لإيران، في حال رفض طهران فتح مضيق هرمز ولم تُفضِ المحادثات الجادة إلى نتيجة سريعة.

وكتب ترمب على منصته «تروث سوشال»: «تُجري الولايات المتحدة محادثات جادة مع نظام جديد وأكثر عقلانية لإنهاء عملياتنا العسكرية في إيران، لقد أُحرز تقدم هائل، ولكن إذا لم يتم التوصل إلى اتفاق بسرعة لأي سبب من الأسباب – وهو ما يُرجح حدوثه – وإذا لم يُفتح مضيق هرمز على الفور، فسوف نختتم «إقامتنا» الممتعة في إيران بتفجير ومحو جميع محطات الطاقة وآبار النفط وجزيرة خارك وربما جميع محطات تحلية المياه!».

بدورها، قالت المتحدثة باسم البيت الأبيض كارولين ليفيت إن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب يريد التوصل إلى اتفاق قبل انقضاء مهلة 6 أبريل، موضحة أن إيران وافقت على بعض النقاط الأمريكية في المحادثات الخاصة.

وأضافت: «إذا ما رفض الإيرانيون هذه الفرصة الذهبية، فإن أعظم قوة عسكرية في تاريخ العالم ستظل على أهبة الاستعداد لتزويد الرئيس ترمب بكل خيار متاح، لضمان استمرار هذا النظام في دفع ثمن باهظ، وسواء تم ذلك بهذه الطريقة أو تلك، لن تعود إيران تمتلك القدرة الموثوقة على تهديد الولايات المتحدة أو حلفائنا».

وكان ترمب مدد (الخميس) مهلة شن هجمات على منشآت الطاقة الإيرانية 10 أيام حتى السادس من أبريل القادم، موضحاً أن القرار جاء بناءً على طلب من طهران، وأن المحادثات لا تزال جارية، وتسير على نحو جيد.

وتعرضت عشرات المواقع في إيران لغارات جوية إسرائيلية وأمريكية، وبحسب مسؤولين إيرانيين فإنه تم تسجيل أضرار في 131 مبنى أثرياً في أنحاء البلاد.

وأفادت وسائل إعلام إيرانية بوقوع 3 انفجارات في جنوب مهرآباد في طهران، وتفعيل الدفاعات الجوية شرق العاصمة الإيرانية، موضحة أن مخزن ذخائر غرب طهران إضافة لموقع في ساحة ملت بالعاصمة الإيرانية وموقع آخر في حي رجائي بالمدينة تعرضت للقصف.

U.S. President Donald Trump has vowed to “erase” the strategically important Khark Island for Iran if Tehran refuses to open the Strait of Hormuz and if serious negotiations do not lead to a quick result.

Trump wrote on his platform “Truth Social”: “The United States is having serious talks with a new and more rational regime to end our military operations in Iran. Tremendous progress has been made, but if an agreement is not reached quickly for any reason – which is likely to happen – and if the Strait of Hormuz is not opened immediately, we will conclude our ‘enjoyable stay’ in Iran by blowing up and erasing all power plants, oil wells, Khark Island, and perhaps all water desalination plants!”

For her part, White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt stated that President Donald Trump wants to reach an agreement before the April 6 deadline, noting that Iran has agreed to some U.S. points in the private talks.

She added: “If the Iranians refuse this golden opportunity, the greatest military power in the history of the world will remain on standby to provide President Trump with every available option to ensure that this regime continues to pay a heavy price, and whether this is done this way or that way, Iran will no longer have the reliable capability to threaten the United States or our allies.”

Trump extended (on Thursday) the deadline for launching attacks on Iranian energy facilities by 10 days until April 6, explaining that the decision came at Tehran’s request and that talks are still ongoing and going well.

Dozens of sites in Iran have been subjected to Israeli and American airstrikes, and according to Iranian officials, damage has been recorded in 131 historical buildings across the country.

Iranian media reported three explosions in southern Mehrabad in Tehran, and the activation of air defenses east of the Iranian capital, clarifying that a munitions depot west of Tehran, in addition to a site in the Milad Square in the Iranian capital and another site in the Rajai neighborhood of the city, were targeted by the bombing.
