حذر رئيس الوزراء اللبناني نواف سلام من تصاعد التهديدات الإسرائيلية تجاه لبنان، لافتاً إلى تصريحات لمسؤولين إسرائيليين حول نية احتلال المنطقة الواقعة جنوب نهر الليطاني وضمها إلى إسرائيل.

ولفت سلام خلال جلسة مجلس الوزراء ، اليوم (الخميس)، التي عقدت في غياب الوزراء الشيعة على خلفية قرار طرد السفير الإيراني، إلى أن إسرائيل قامت بتفجير معظم جسور نهر الليطاني بهدف فصل هذه المنطقة عن بقية الأراضي اللبنانية، بالتوازي مع عمليات تهجير لسكان المدن والقرى هناك، وهدم منازلهم أحياناً بالكامل، في مؤشر على عدم السماح بعودة المدنيين قريباً.

وأضاف أن هذه الأفعال، سواء أُطلقت تحت مسمى “الحزام الأمني” أو “المنطقة العازلة”، تشكل تهديداً خطيراً لسيادة لبنان وسلامة أراضيه وحقوق أبنائه، وتتناقض مع القانون الدولي والقانون الدولي الإنساني وميثاق الأمم المتحدة.

وطالب سلام وزير الخارجية بتقديم شكوى رسمية لمجلس الأمن، لافتاً إلى أنه سيتواصل مباشرة مع الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة لهذا الغرض.

وفي سياق متصل، أعرب سلام عن استنكاره لاكتشاف خلية إرهابية جديدة في الكويت، لافتاً إلى أن بين المتهمين شخصان ينتميان إلى حزب الله وفق وزارة الداخلية الكويتية.

وأكد سلام أن ما يضر الكويت يضر لبنان، مشدداً على أن العلاقة بين البلدين تاريخية وثابتة، وأن الجالية اللبنانية تحترم القوانين وتساهم في الحياة الاقتصادية بالكويت. وأفاد بأنه أجرى اتصالاً برئيس الوزراء الكويتي للتأكيد على استنكار لبنان الكامل لهذه الأعمال الإرهابية وتضامنه مع الكويت.

ولفت سلام إلى أن البيانات الرسمية للدول المستهدفة تظهر أن التركيز الأكبر للهجمات الإيرانية منذ بداية الحرب كان على دول الخليج، بنسبة 83%، مقارنة بـ17% فقط ضد إسرائيل، مستهدفة منشآت حيوية ومواقع مدنية، وهو ما يشكل تصعيداً خطيراً. وأضاف أن لبنان لن يبقى صامتاً تجاه هذه الهجمات، وأنه سيتواصل مع قادة الدول العربية للتأكيد على تضامن لبنان معها.

واختتم سلام حديثه بالتأكيد على اتخاذ تدابير جديدة لتعزيز الأمن في العاصمة بيروت، تشمل تكثيف دوريات الجيش وقوى الأمن، لضمان سلامة المواطنين.

The Lebanese Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, warned of the escalating Israeli threats towards Lebanon, pointing to statements from Israeli officials regarding their intention to occupy the area south of the Litani River and annex it to Israel.

During a Cabinet session today (Thursday), which was held in the absence of the Shiite ministers due to the decision to expel the Iranian ambassador, Salam noted that Israel has blown up most of the bridges over the Litani River in order to separate this area from the rest of Lebanese territory, alongside the displacement of residents from cities and villages there, sometimes completely demolishing their homes, indicating that civilians will not be allowed to return anytime soon.

He added that these actions, whether labeled as “the security belt” or “the buffer zone,” pose a serious threat to Lebanon’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the rights of its citizens, and contradict international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter.

Salam called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs to file an official complaint to the Security Council, noting that he would communicate directly with the UN Secretary-General for this purpose.

In a related context, Salam expressed his condemnation of the discovery of a new terrorist cell in Kuwait, pointing out that among the accused are two individuals belonging to Hezbollah according to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior.

Salam affirmed that what harms Kuwait also harms Lebanon, emphasizing that the relationship between the two countries is historical and solid, and that the Lebanese community respects the laws and contributes to the economic life in Kuwait. He stated that he had contacted the Kuwaiti Prime Minister to reaffirm Lebanon’s complete condemnation of these terrorist acts and its solidarity with Kuwait.

Salam pointed out that the official statements from the targeted countries show that the majority of Iranian attacks since the beginning of the war have focused on Gulf countries, at a rate of 83%, compared to only 17% against Israel, targeting vital facilities and civilian sites, which constitutes a serious escalation. He added that Lebanon will not remain silent regarding these attacks and that he will communicate with the leaders of Arab countries to affirm Lebanon’s solidarity with them.

Salam concluded his remarks by confirming the adoption of new measures to enhance security in the capital, Beirut, including increasing the patrols of the army and security forces to ensure the safety of citizens.
