أعلن الاتحاد الإنجليزي لكرة القدم فرض غرامة مالية قدرها 80 ألف جنيه إسترليني على الإسباني رودري، لاعب وسط نادي مانشستر سيتي، إثر تصريحاته المثيرة للجدل حول أداء الحكام بعد إحدى المباريات الأخيرة.

وكان رودري قد صرح بعد المباراة قائلاً:

«أعلم أننا فزنا كثيراً وأن الناس لا يريدون لنا الفوز، لكن على الحكم أن يكون محايداً. الأمر ليس عادلاً لأننا نعمل بجد كبير، وعندما ينتهي كل شيء، تشعر بالإحباط».

وأوضحت لجنة اللوائح التابعة للاتحاد الإنجليزي أن رودري قدم رسالتين كجزء من الأدلة الخاصة بالقضية. ففي رسالته الأولى أشار إلى أن تصريحاته «أُسيء فهمها وتفسيرها من قبل بعض وسائل الإعلام». أما في رسالته الثانية فقد اعترف بأن كلامه كان «غير مناسب وأقل من المستوى المتوقع»، مؤكداً أنه لم يقصد الإيحاء بتحيز أو التشكيك في نزاهة الحكام.

وقال رودري في رسالته الثانية: «لطالما كان لدي، ولا يزال، احترام كبير للحكام وللجهد الكبير الذي يبذلونه في بيئة سريعة ومليئة بالضغط. صدرت تصريحاتي في لحظة إحباط بعد نتيجة مخيبة للآمال، وبعد التفكير أدركت أن كلماتي كانت سيئة الاختيار وقابلة لأن تُفسر بطريقة لم أقصدها».

ويأتي هذا القرار في إطار حرص الاتحاد الإنجليزي على الحفاظ على احترام الحكام وضمان الالتزام بمعايير السلوك المهني داخل الملاعب.

The English Football Association announced a financial fine of £80,000 on Spanish midfielder Rodri of Manchester City, following his controversial statements regarding the performance of referees after one of the recent matches.

Rodri stated after the match:

“I know we have won a lot and that people don’t want us to win, but the referee must be neutral. It’s not fair because we work really hard, and when everything is over, you feel frustrated.”

The FA’s regulations committee clarified that Rodri submitted two messages as part of the evidence for the case. In his first message, he indicated that his statements “were misunderstood and misinterpreted by some media outlets.” In his second message, he acknowledged that his words were “inappropriate and below the expected standard,” emphasizing that he did not intend to imply bias or question the integrity of the referees.

Rodri said in his second message: “I have always had, and still have, great respect for referees and the tremendous effort they put in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. My statements were made in a moment of frustration after a disappointing result, and upon reflection, I realized that my words were poorly chosen and could be interpreted in a way I did not intend.”

This decision comes as part of the FA’s commitment to maintaining respect for referees and ensuring adherence to professional conduct standards on the pitch.
