بدا الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب متشائمًا، الجمعة، خلال حديثه إلى الصحفيين بشأن المفاوضات الجارية بين واشنطن وطهران حول اتفاق نووي محتمل، معتبرًا أن الإيرانيين «لا يملكون سجلًا حافلًا بالإنجازات في هذا المجال»، في إشارة إلى تجارب سابقة لم تُفضِ إلى نتائج حاسمة.
تشكيك في جدية طهران
وقال ترمب إن المسؤولين في إيران «يريدون الحوار، لكنهم حتى الآن يكثرون الكلام دون أي فعل»، ملمّحًا إلى فجوة بين الخطاب الإيراني وما تصفه الإدارة الأمريكية بخطوات عملية مطلوبة لبناء الثقة.
وأضاف أن «تغيير النظام قد يكون أفضل ما يمكن أن يحدث»، في تصريح يعكس تصعيدًا في لهجته السياسية، رغم أنه تجنّب الخوض في تفاصيل تتعلق بالبدائل المحتملة داخل طهران.
تفاؤل سابق تبدد سريعًا
وكان ترمب قد أبدى تفاؤلًا قبل ساعات فقط، مؤكدًا اعتقاده بأن المفاوضين الأمريكيين «سينجحون» في التوصل إلى اتفاق. إلا أن نبرته تغيّرت لاحقًا، لتغلب عليها الشكوك بشأن فرص إبرام تفاهم نهائي.
رسالة تحذير: «أعطونا الاتفاق المناسب»
وعند سؤاله عمّا يمكن أن تفعله إيران لتجنب هجوم عسكري أمريكي محتمل، أجاب ترمب: «أعطونا الاتفاق الذي كان ينبغي عليهم تقديمه لنا من البداية. إذا قدموا لنا الاتفاق المناسب، فلن نفعل ذلك»، في إشارة واضحة إلى ربط الخيار العسكري بنتائج التفاوض.
منشآت «مدمّرة» وما تبقى
وفي سياق حديثه عن الضربات الأمريكية التي استهدفت منشآت نووية إيرانية الصيف الماضي، جدّد ترمب تأكيده أنها «دُمّرت»، مضيفًا أن ما تبقى «أقل ما يمكن تحقيقه في المهمة». وتابع: «إذا فعلنا ذلك، فسيكون هذا أقل ما يمكن تحقيقه، لكننا على الأرجح سنستولي على ما تبقى».
ورغم إبدائه دعمًا لفكرة تغيير النظام، رفض ترمب تحديد اسم أو جهة يراها مناسبة لخلافة المرشد الإيراني علي خامنئي، مكتفيًا بالقول: «هناك أشخاص»، دون تقديم تفاصيل إضافية.

Doubt About Tehran’s Seriousness
Trump stated that officials in Iran “want to talk, but so far they are talking a lot without any action,” hinting at a gap between Iranian rhetoric and what the U.S. administration describes as the necessary practical steps to build trust.
He added that “regime change may be the best thing that could happen,” in a statement reflecting an escalation in his political tone, although he avoided delving into details regarding potential alternatives within Tehran.
Previous Optimism Quickly Dwindled
Trump had expressed optimism just hours earlier, affirming his belief that U.S. negotiators “will succeed” in reaching an agreement. However, his tone later changed, overshadowed by doubts about the chances of reaching a final understanding.
Warning Message: “Give Us the Right Deal”
When asked what Iran could do to avoid a potential U.S. military strike, Trump replied: “Give us the deal that they should have given us from the beginning. If they give us the right deal, we won’t do that,” in a clear indication of linking the military option to the outcomes of the negotiations.
“Destroyed” Facilities and What Remains
In the context of discussing the U.S. strikes that targeted Iranian nuclear facilities last summer, Trump reiterated his assertion that they were “destroyed,” adding that what remains is “the least that can be achieved in the mission.” He continued: “If we do that, it will be the least that can be achieved, but we will likely seize what remains.”
Despite expressing support for the idea of regime change, Trump refused to specify a name or entity he sees as suitable to succeed Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, merely stating: “There are people,” without providing additional details.
