مصر تحت عاصفة رملية قوية.. تدهور الرؤية وتحذيرات عاجلة من «الأرصاد» – أخبار السعودية
شهدت مصر اليوم (الجمعة) عاصفة ترابية شديدة، مصحوبة برياح قوية مثيرة للرمال والأتربة، أدت إلى تغطية سماء القاهرة الكبرى والجيزة والقليوبية وعدة محافظات أخرى بطبقة كثيفة من الغبار، مما تسبب في تدني الرؤية الأفقية بشكل ملحوظ (أقل من 500 متر في بعض المناطق)، وأجواء صيفية مفاجئة رغم الشتاء.
رياح قوية وعاصفة ترابية
وبحسب هيئة الأرصاد الجوية المصرية، بلغت سرعة نشاط الرياح 50 – 60 كم/ساعة على أغلب الأنحاء، مع هبات أقوى في المناطق المكشوفة والصحراوية، مما أثار كميات كبيرة من الرمال والأتربة.
وقالت عضو المركز الإعلامي بالهيئة العامة للأرصاد الجوية الدكتورة منار غانم، إن العاصفة الترابية التي تشهدها البلاد اليوم جاءت نتيجة نشاط قوي للرياح الجنوبية الغربية المحملة بالأتربة والرمال القادمة من المناطق الصحراوية، مؤكدة أن الهيئة كانت قد حذرت مسبقًا من هذه الحالة الجوية، كما وتُعد جزءاً من موجة «رياح الخماسين» المبكرة، ومن المتوقع استمرار التقلبات حتى الثلاثاء 17 فبراير، مع ذروة اليوم (الجمعة).
انخفاض حاد في الرؤية الأفقية
وأثّرت العاصفة على الرؤية والحركة وشهدت البلاد انخفاضاً حاداً في الرؤية الأفقية، خاصة على الطرق السريعة والصحراوية، مما دفع الشرطة إلى تعزيز التواجد المروري ومساعدة المواطنين على الطرق، كما شهدت شوارع القاهرة والجيزة والقليوبية أجواء «صفراء» كثيفة، مع انتشار الغبار داخل المنازل والسيارات.
المناطق الأكثر تأثراً
وكانت أكثر المناطق تأثراً هي القاهرة الكبرى، الجيزة، القليوبية، الوجه البحري، مدن القناة، سيناء، شمال الصعيد، والسواحل الشمالية، كما امتد التأثير إلى مناطق واسعة بسبب الرياح الجنوبية الغربية والغربية القوية.
الأمطار والملاحة البحرية
وعن الأمطار والملاحة البحرية توقعت هيئة الأرصاد فرصاً لأمطار خفيفة إلى متوسطة (ورعدية أحياناً) على السواحل الشمالية الغربية (مثل مطروح والسلوم) وشمال الوجه البحري، مع اضطراب شديد في الملاحة على البحر المتوسط (أمواج 2.5 – 3.5 متر) وخليجي السويس والعقبة (أمواج تصل إلى 4 أمتار).
نصائح لمرضى الجهاز التنفسي
ونصحت مرضى الحساسية والجهاز التنفسي وأمراض الربو والجيوب الأنفية إلى التزام بالبقاء في المنازل مع ضرورة إغلاق النوافذ، ارتداء الكمامات والنظارات، وتجنب الخروج غير الضروري.
فيما دفعت وزارة الداخلية بتعزيزات مرورية وأمنية، وناشدت الهيئة المواطنين بالابتعاد عن اللوحات الإعلانية وأعمدة الإنارة، وتأجيل أعمال الرش الزراعي وتثبيت الصوب الزراعية.
Egypt witnessed a severe dust storm today (Friday), accompanied by strong winds stirring up sand and dust, which led to a thick layer of dust covering the skies of Greater Cairo, Giza, Qalyubia, and several other governorates, causing a noticeable reduction in horizontal visibility (less than 500 meters in some areas), and unexpectedly summery weather despite it being winter.
Strong Winds and Dust Storm
According to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, wind speeds reached 50 – 60 km/h in most areas, with stronger gusts in open and desert regions, stirring up large amounts of sand and dust.
Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the media center at the General Authority for Meteorology, stated that the dust storm affecting the country today was the result of strong activity from southwestern winds carrying dust and sand from desert areas, confirming that the authority had previously warned of this weather condition, which is also part of the early “Khamaseen winds” wave, with fluctuations expected to continue until Tuesday, February 17, peaking today (Friday).
Sharp Decrease in Visibility
The storm affected visibility and movement, leading to a sharp decrease in horizontal visibility, especially on highways and desert roads, prompting the police to enhance traffic presence and assist citizens on the roads. The streets of Cairo, Giza, and Qalyubia experienced dense “yellow” conditions, with dust spreading inside homes and vehicles.
Most Affected Areas
The most affected areas were Greater Cairo, Giza, Qalyubia, the Delta region, Canal cities, Sinai, northern Upper Egypt, and the northern coasts, with the impact extending to wide areas due to strong southwestern and western winds.
Rain and Maritime Navigation
Regarding rain and maritime navigation, the Meteorological Authority predicted chances of light to moderate rain (and sometimes thunderous) on the northwestern coasts (such as Matrouh and Sallum) and northern Delta, with severe disturbances in navigation on the Mediterranean Sea (waves of 2.5 – 3.5 meters) and the Gulf of Suez and Aqaba (waves reaching up to 4 meters).
Advice for Respiratory Patients
Patients with allergies, respiratory issues, asthma, and sinus diseases were advised to stay at home, close windows, wear masks and glasses, and avoid unnecessary outings.
The Ministry of Interior deployed traffic and security reinforcements and urged citizens to stay away from billboards and light poles, as well as to postpone agricultural spraying and secure greenhouses.
